New Reservation Question

Hello All,
It has been a while since we have planned a Disney Vacation and never planned one with uncertainty. I made a 3 day courtesy hold reservation. If I make the deposit and we cancel, do we lose the deposit that we made. Neither my wife nor I will be able to ask our employers until after the 3 day courtesy period ends and we got a decent deal and really want to put the deposit down but don't want to lose the money we put down.

Package reservations with a $200 deposit are refundable up to the final payment date. If you purchased trip insurance at the same time I think you have just 10 days (might be less) from your booking date to cancel the insurance or you lose the insurance premium. The $200 remains refundable up to 31 days ahead of the trip.

If just a room reservation with a one night + tax deposit, those are refundable much closer to the trip, I think it's 5 or 6 days prior to check in.

Great, thanks. It is for 6 nights and we are going end of May. Thanks for the Trip Insurance info. We will definitely be purchasing since my MIL will be going with us. I love the information I have received on this board and how quick you all respond.

We never add the trip insurance until final payment as the trip insurance is non-refundable once purchased. We see no need to have insurance until we are in a cancellation penalty phase.
