So I was just looking at some of the new stuff on the DFTW website, and let me tell you they are great! You can take 360 tours of all the locations, see video, more pictures, etc. than ever before. However, I noticed that the have changed some of the guest min/max requirements, particularily for my reception location, ADH. Now I am assuming since I have a contract signed I will be fine, right? But anyone who has not signed a contract and plans on using ADH, it says you now need a 150 guest minimum! There is no way we are even coming close to that!

If you've alreadry signed your contract you do not have to meet any new requirements. You only have to meet what's in your contract.

Wow, 150 people is a lot, I guess ADH won't be used much, lol.

I saw the new virtual tours too! But I don't think they raised the minimum guest count to 150 (it doesn't actually say that), I think on that virtual tour info it just means that you can hold 150-200 guests. If you go to the DFTW website and look up ADH under Receptions, Specialty Venues and click on ADH there's a Special Venue Guidelines link and in it there is no minimum guest count. I agree with the previous poster, if you already have your contract and they actually DID raise the minimum guest count, you should still be fine, as that would be the case with me because we are using ADH too and already have our contract, and I would throw a big fit if they changed the guest requirement to 150.

You're making me nervous! The new features are cool...they have way more locations than the old pages. I really hope they aren't changing the min guest count..if you go to the compare page it says the numbers are min/max...so it's not looking good for me..

This freaked me out so much that I called Disney and she confirmed that there is now a minimum guest count of 150 for ADH (I'm assuming this is going forward and not for people who have already signed a contract). This was just from the lady who answered the phone - if anyone has a consultant or planner and wouldn't mind running it past them for confirmation I'd appreciate it. It looks like it's back to the drawing board for me on our location and theme  :sad1:

I'm concerned about the new requirements, too. We just received our LOA last night and haven't signed it yet ... we're trying to reach our consultant to make sure that since we have the LOA (even though it's unsigned) we're okay. Otherwise, we're going to be looking for a new reception space! :headache:

I'm sure because you have you're LOA you're fine.

Where did you find the 360 tours? I only see a few videos and don't see anything about the requirements:confused3 can someone post this so I can take a look please :goodvibes

Actually, we just found our that we're not. As part of all this "new" policy stuff that's just come out, Narcoossee's will no longer move tables at all, so our guests can't be seated at one long table as we had planned. The irony of it all is that on the new virtual tour website, there is a beautiful photo of the inside of Narcoossee's with *round* tables set for a reception and other tables clearly moved out of the way. :sad1: We told our coordinator they might want to think about pulling that photo since they won't set it up that way anymore. :sad2:

I had the same problem with the Flying Fish, we were originally hiring it out for our reception and Disney Event Group would not let us move tables (even though we checked with our sales consultant prior to getting our LOA) in the end we moved reception locations, and were fortunate that we got what we wanted originally.

Was it explicitly stated in your contract that you could move the tables? Ive learned that when dealing with contracts you must have everything you want in writing so you can make sure you get it.

I'm sorry that happened to you. It's so frustrating ... they push this "whatever your heart desires" thing so hard, but with all of their restrictions and limitations, it's really not true.

Nope; there was nothing that specific in there. Our consultant assured us we were fine; plus, lots of weddings have done it in the past. It's just apparently not going to be allowed going forward. So now we have to make a new plan. *sigh*

The one thing that we had never heard of that *was* in our contract was a $50 "small group fee" for each of our venues (except the ceremony site) because we'll have 18 people and not 20.

That really stinks that there's a huge min guest count for ADH. I don't know if anybody else noticed, but when I clicked on "compare" there is now also an "additional fee" for ADH, which they didn't used to have. I wonder how much that is???

I think that Additional Fee column is misleading—it could mean anything! For one thing, it's noted on all the in-park DP locations because they have viewing fees. But then Shipwreck Beach is listed twice, and in one listing it has an additional fee but in the second it doesn't!

I think "additional fee" is just a catch-all for any possible extra fees, like the viewing fee for DPs or the lighting and decor package required at Shipwreck Beach. I wouldn't sweat it... :thumbsup2

From any of the wishes page of DFTW, click on the wedding tools "open tools" icon, then virtual venue tour. when you open one of the sites for further info, the new tabs at the top will lead to a chart of info.

This is a real improvement, but I wish the wishbook would come back! That was a neat tool!

I am having future senior moment. I was looking to see if any of the other photo info had changed too when I found it. It took a few minutes for me to realize I was back where I started! HA!
:rolleyes1

I am a diser have been for many years and have am a frequent poster on these boards, so please don't think of me as a troll. I just created a new account in case any Disney planner reads this site I don't want to cause any problems with my wedding.

Anyway I just wanted to say I totally agree with this statement. There are a few things that we really wanted to have for our wedding but we were told that it just isn't possible. Its not like they want to charge an unreasonable price for things, that they just won't do it. I want to give examples I am just afarid that they might be able to figure out who we are because we have very specific requests. We requested a custom cake with custom topper. But we were told that the Disney bakery cannot customize characters. If they haven't been in that situtation or costume in a film or something else already produced by Disney, the bakery cannot make their own desgin. I still don't understand this answer; everything is done by Disney, on the Disney property, they will still own the rights to the new design.

Yikes! I totally understand what you're saying but I'd hate to think that there would be any kind of repercussions if you did choose to post details ... I mean, you *are* the client paying them thousands of dollars for goodness' sake! I can understand if they say they can't do something, but you should never have to worry about someone there making problems for you because you talked about it! :flower3:

I hope everything comes together really well for you and your day is magical despite the frustrations you've had to deal with. :goodvibes

pardon my naive---ity but do the DFTW planner really read these boards??

if htey can then I am out of luck since my name is clear my username and since I have posted my planner and on and on so I guess I could be found out...

they do read and vendors are very aware of the boards as well. just something to think about when posting. not that ANYTHING is private on the interwebs, right?? :lmao:
