New Rent/Trade Rules - Better solution?

Seems there has to be a better way other than forced participation...maybe we can turn this into a suggestion thread

Some people are too busy to contribute monthly but still enjoy popping in with a contribution at their convenience

So...
Minimum Posts - 50 posts distributed evenly over 6 months (current policy)
Minimum Years Joined Alone
Minimum Total Lifetime Posts
Minimum Total Lifetime Posts + Minimum Years Joined

The reasons for our posting requirement is to get people to participate on a regular basis in our forums.

Let me hit some points on your suggestions:

There are people who have been registered for years on the DIS, who have never posted anywhere, except to profit from our community on the Rent/Trade board. They may have several hundred posts, all on the Rent/Trade board. We are asking people to create a non-Rent/Trade posting history that can be reviewed, and to participate on the boards.

As discussed in the other thread, the Rent/Trade board was never inteded to be a free for all clearing house for DVC rentals.

The rules that started February 1st had been posted on all the DVC boards in November, and were bumped to always remain on the front page of those forums far all to see until February 1st, so the rules should not come as a surprise to anyone that has been on the DVC boards or the Rent/Trade board at all over the last few months.

There are other channels for renting your points, many of which charge a fee for use, like ebay, or that charge a membership fee for access, like TUG. The DIS simply requires active participation.

The Rent/Trade requirements are not being reconsidered at this time. This thread is closed.
