I know new releases frequently appear on board the day they are released but Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is scheduled to release the day we disembark.

Is it reasonable or unlikely that we may have the option of a midnight screening the night before we get off? Not the biggest deal in the world but if we do I'll want to change around some of our plans on that last Sea Day to make sure we can all stay awake.

I've been on board for a few movie release and sometimes they make a big deal about them. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe they show the previous POC movies first and then premier the new one.

Last year on the Disney Wonder on December 18th right after midnight, they showed Star Wars The Force Awakens, which must have made for quite a morning for movie goers a few hours later as it was disembarkation.

Yeah, it kinda makes me nervous with a midnight movie. Then 7:30 express disembarkation, then a day in the parks but I guess we can sleep when we're dead.

Big Hero 6 premiered while we were on the Dream. They showed it at 1201am that Thursday night/Friday morning. It did make for a lot of very sleepy people (us included!) when we disembarked at 0730 that morning. It was a lot of fun! My kids were older at the time (16/19/20)and they pretty much just stayed awake till we disembarked and then slept on the plane ride home later that morning.

We were on the Dream last December when the Star wars movie premeared. They had two showings, depending on your dinner seating, and they adjusted the late dinner to start at 8 pm that night instead of 815. The showings followed the dinners.

Keep in mind that on land select theatres were able to show the movie starting at 7 pm Thursday, show showing them on board before midnight was consistent with that.

They also had a showing just after midnight and another at something like 5 am Friday morning (leave the ship day).

For new Disney movies they should at least have a midnight (i.e. 12:01am) showing on the Friday.

Depending on the specific movie, they may or may not have showings Thursday night. MY guess is most of the time those are tied to what is being allowed on land.

My son and I saw "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" at a PremEAR at 12:01 the morning of disembarkation. It was lots of fun and there were MANY people there and it was a really long movie. lol
They did not say they would be showing the movie and when I asked, I was given the "you will have to wait and see" response. :)

Disney probably won't tell you until the very last day if it is going to happen or not, but the chances are very high. They premiered Tomorrowland at 12:01 a.m. the night before I disembarked a Disney Cruise. They also did premiere The BFG on my last cruise, but that wasn't on a night I disembarked the next morning.

We were on Disney Magic this summer for the 12-night inaugural British Isles cruise and Finding Dory opened on our disembarkation date (Friday). At 12:01 am on Friday morning/Thursday night, they premiered it in both the Walt Disney Theater (in 3D) and the Buena Vista Theater (in 2D).

I also want to warn you incase you run into this. I boarded the Disney Wonder the day Star Wars came out. When they showed it that evening on the ship, I waited in line to get in for two hours because a line was already forming, and I know everyone did not get in. Since Pirates of the Caribbean has a great fanbase, you might see that even for a midnight showing (if it shows). I recommend getting in line earlier rather than later so you have plenty of seats to choose from, and are guaranteed a spot. I also heard that when Star Wars was released the night before on the Wonder, they had three showings the morning of debarkation at 12 a.m, 3 a.m, and 5:30 a.m. I think. You were assigned a specify showing depending on what stateroom you were in. I don't know if DCL would do that for Pirates of the Caribbean.

We were on board for the PremEAR of Frozen in the Walt on the Fantasy. It's funny given the passion for the movie now, but we walked right in as it started, took the seat of our choice on the balcony and watched it. My wife had to get up to visit the facilities during the movie. What did she miss? Let It Go. :rotfl:

I will be on the Fantasy 27 oct - 3 nov and The Nutcracker is scheduled to be released on 2 nov!
I'm hoping they would show the movie onboard!
