New refrigerator

I am going to finally bite the bullet and buy a new refrigerator. I am either going to buy a french door or one with the freezer on the bottom. Can anyone share with me their thoughts if they own one of my choices? It would be greatly appreciated.

I like the double drawer on the bottom as I felt the single drawer botton freezer was way too deep. My MIL has that one and to lean over and dig to something in the bottom was a pain. Mine is easier as you can pull out either drawer and stuff is not completely burried.

The fridge part is great. The ice maker is in the door on the left so you sacrifice some door space but I am doing fine without as there's still enough on the right door. They also have one shelf which is split on top so if you have a lot of tall stuff you can just lift the shelf above and slide it back to a half shelf. Sounds confusing I bet - lol

Also with the door ice/water dispenser..... It's very tall and has a slide out shelf so you can fill pitchers not just glasses. Also you can get water by pushing the glass against the button pr pushing a second button above with a different hand. You can make 3 different size ice cubes, it has a "fast" ice maker so if you need it to make ice quicker you can.


We love it. Best fridge we have had.

I wish I had gotten the french door style but I bought a Samsung side by side. I love my Samsung though!

we have the maytag french door with the ice/water dispenser in the door and we love it! we have only had it a few months, but it is great! lots more room than our side by side did!

Yep, french doors with freezer drawer on bottom for us too... (On the inside there is a top and bottom, so it's easy to keep organized)

I just finished a major kitchen renovation, which included purchasing all new appliances. I have been using my Samsung french door refrigerator since April and I love it. I had really wanted the model that had the water dispenser inside the refrigerator and had it on hold with Lowes for some time until my remodel was sufficient to accept my appliances but somehow Lowes sold my refrigerator and the model was outdated so I couldn't get a replacement. They did give me a new model that has the water dispenser on the outside door for the same price so I saved a lot of money. This is my second Samsung; my other one was a side by side that I never had a single problem with. The only reason I replaced it was that I went with all stainless in my renovation.Here is a link:

Thank you all for your feedback. Which model Amana do you have? I need to go with black because my dishwasher and stove are black.

French door, freezer on the bottom. Ice maker in the freezer, Water dispenser in the inside of the fridge.
