I couldn't catch it all on the news this morning, but for this new tax thing there is to be a rebate cheques sending them out this week from the government. Any clue how much?
From the website:
PS - This is only for Ontario - so don't get too excited, all of you in other provinces. LOL

Oh! And you had my hopes so high!Oh well, great for all of you!
Not to rain on the parade but your wallets are going to be hit with an extra 8% starting July 1st on heating/cooling your home, gassing your car, subscriptions, memberships and many of the other goods and services not presently taxed by the PST. This is not "free" money, just a temporary bribe, er, gift, to offset the initial impact of this tax grab.
In one hand, out the other.

You could not have said it better. Dalton McGuinty will go down in history as the guy that helped destroy Ontario with all his tax grabs, extra health taxes...etc . This rebate is only good for one year so while our hydro goes up 10% plus HST along with gas, heating costs, it will be hard to recover. Its amazing that he let the tax go on all the essentials. Thats my rant...sorry

O.k I am still not sure about who gets the rebate and who doesn't.???
I saw the first posts about the "rules" but .....
I actually filed a tax return just for this reason even though i do not work and have no income......but I didn't get any info in with my tax return stuff and haven't recieved a cheque so I am thinking I won't get one?
My husband works and we have 2 kids....is there a limit to his income....I saw that single people and seniors can make up to 180 thousand!!!! and we definitely do not make that!!!
any ideas??
