Ok i thought i read that with the new rates we will now be charged whatever the rate is for that day... So i went to book and the rate is the same for the entire time...even though the season changes during my stay... any ideas?

Maybe you booked your whole trip and it was in the same price season.

From What I've read that is the change, it used to be that if
you booked your trip on the last day of Value Season that
you would get that Value season price for your whole stay but
now the price will be going by per day cost.
One day could be Value Price and the next Regular or
Peak Season depending on what days you book.
:hourglass

well i havent booked yet but i was in the process of booking a room only ressie for 12/30-1/6 1/1 is when the season changes from holiday to value so i thought with the new system i would be charged the holiday rate for 2 nights and value for the rest...but it showed the per night rate and all of them were the holiday rate...so i dunno what the deal is

Sounds like it may cost plenty.
By the Way I LOVE your Avatar.

yes 12/30/07-1/6/08 it's a sunday to sunday but it says that it is the 129 holiday rate the entire stay..it doesnt show the rate changing as it should on the 1st??:confused3

Your stay is beginning in 2007, so the rules & rates for 2007 will apply. If your stay begins in Holiday season, you will be charged those rates for the entire stay.

ahh... that makes sense! well i guess ill just have to do the two reservation thing... thanks!

Exactly. Book from 12-30 thru 12-31 then a separate ressie for the remainder of the trip.

It only makes perfect sense that you should only need to make 1 reservation and have the rates automatically adjust from Holiday season over to Value season during your trip which overlaps seasons, but i guess that's too simple for Disney to figure out.

If you book on-line, even a room only is through WDTC. (Acting as if it is a package.) You may even get some free perk(s) with your res to make it into a package.
So if you are trying to book on-line, starting with a 2007 date, you are booking a 2007 package.
2007 packages are under the current way of paying -- nightly rates based on the day of arrival.
If you booked a res with a 2008 arrival, then that res would be a 2008 package with rates based on the new system of the daily rates.
If you want a room only, you may be better off just calling in.

This is what happened to me too. We are staying at POP from 12/31 to 1/6. We ended up having to do 2 three night ressies because there is a three night minimum at the POP around that time frame. I couldn't book a one night ressie and a 5 night ressie. Called two different times to try to add one night onto the 5 night ressie I made online, but no one could get it to work. We are paying the $129 rate for the first three nights and the $82 rate for the last three nights. I hated doing that, but we didn't want to stay at Sports (the only value I could book for one night) or CSR (the only mod available for one night) for the whole trip. We are flying and using magical express - no car - so switching resorts didn't appeal to us. We can't fly in on the 1st because it's a blackout date and we are using vouchers. I hate paying about $105 extra because of that, but that's the only way we could get it to work. It's better than $129/night for all 6! If anyone has any suggestions as to how to do it differently, I'm open to ideas!
