I write stories like that.
Usually the princesses die in the end or are too screwed up to function.
It doesn't affect my Disney views of them at all, it's just an outlet to write.

I also wrote a Twilight where you find out Bella is actually in a mental hospital, with everything in her imagination.

Actually, that's a lie about the princesses.

The majority of them do end up with their prince, just in a more shattered, unstable way.

I don't get the Sleeping Beauty one much... Or the Belle one. Well, I have an idea for the Belle one, but i'm unsure.

My favorite is grown-up Wendy with her heart broken from missing Peter, and forgotten how to fly, jumping off a cliff in one final attempt to see him again. He catches her, though. So... score one for happy endings.


The Sleeping Beauty is what happens when her prince couldn't wake her up. She sleeps for a hundred years, never aging, so he takes her with him to the retirement home.

That makes more sense.

The obvious one for Belle would be plastic surgery to stay beautiful, but that doesn't match her character. The one I thought was that Beast got mad about something, and beat her to the extent to needing face surgery.

Yeah I can't decide if Belle is a statement about being beautiful in the modern world, or if needing facial reconstruction surgery after being beaten by an abusive Beast.

I can't really figure out what the Cindy one is trying to say. If she's just a drunk, or if theres something deeper.

The Rapunzel one was very sad. Even though it is probably relating to cancer/chemo, it made me think of the book Zel, where Rapunzel goes completely insane in her tower.
