1) For those at WDW right now, most menu signs are down.
2) You know, those electronic menu screens above QS counters.
3) There is no computer glitch.
4) They are changing menus at the QS eateries.
5) But, the changes are minor.
. . . changing bean-burgers for veggie burgers at some eateries
. . . adding mac-and-cheese at some more eateries
. . . changing blue cheese mushroom burger to swiss & mushroom burger at some
. . . there are some different items at different eateries
. . . unfortunately, no change (yet) with the burger wheat buns *
6) Changes should be effective 8/26, I think.

* From what I hear, they are still studying new wheat buns and making
surveys. But, they say they will DEFINITELY stay as wheat buns. No
more white buns, except for special or super burgers.

Do you know what brand of veggie burgers they will be using now?

1) They currently use Gardenburger .
2) But, the variety is ONLY sold non-retail (parks, events, etc).
3) You cannot buy them at your grocer.
4) The new ones are supposedly the Gardenburger Back Bean (vegan) burger.

I've never had a bean burger but will give them a shot with an open mind.
Thanks for the update.

:)

I've had the Morning Star black bean burgers before, they're good, but I like them with like salsa and stuff, and not as a "traditional" burger.

Interesting..DCL (I'm pretty sure) uses Boca Burgers.

I wish they would give the option of a wheat bun as opposed to forcing the use of the wheat bun. I know people who don't eat at Disney because they don't like wheat buns. I would think it would be more efficient for Disney to use a whole grain white bun..rather than wheat. JMHO :)

I wonder if it would help the dryness of the wheat bun at all to carry some of those little food wraps and wrap them up for a few minutes so the heat from the burger itself would make the bun more moist?

I hate those wheat buns....they might not be as bad if they were steamed a bit.

I'm loving this news! I was dreading the veggie burgers that I had last year. Hoping these are much better!

Thanks for posting this!

WDW used to serve Boca Burgers which I loved.. Then for whatever reason they switched to Garden Burgers. I did not like that particular patty at all. No amount of toppings was hiding that flavor. While I'd much rather them go back to Boca Burgers, I'll take these new black bean burgers over the Garden Burgers they were serving. Now don't get me wrong, some Garden Burger varieties are good..the ones that they had I found to be really unpleasant.

The current buns actually are white bread with a small mix of whole grains so they aren't even really healthy but they are really cheap. They are Autumn Grain brand that is also sold at Wal-Mart for like .29 a dozen. That's why they aren't changing them--because they are dirt cheap. You can ask to see the ingredient list and they are white flour and corn syrup with a few whole grains mixed in to make them brownish and healthier. I hate them more though because they have a number of allergens in them.

I can't wait to hear if there is an update from Flame Tree, as a CM there indicated that fries and onion rings would soon be available as sides or snacks on the DDP (and the date he gave us was 8/26).
