We have reservations for For Wilderness for September of this year. We are in the process of getting a puppy. Our reservations don't include the puppy yet. Do we need to change our reservations to include the puppy loop? Are there premium sites on the pet loop as well? Do you have to be on a pet loop if you have a pet? Thanks.

Yes you need to let them know about the pup. There will be premium pet loops when completed.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, we beg of you that if you have a pet please stay on a pet loop. My daughter is highly allergic to cats and dogs and sends her into an asthma attack (so severe that she can react to the hair on your clothing, she now takes weekly allergy shots and lots of expensive meds to avoid a reaction). I make no request loop other than a non-pet loop. We are animal lovers and she is often mistaken by dog owners as being scared as she turns and runs from an approaching dog.

Congrats on your new puppy! :) Just call 407-W-Disney and give them your reservation number and advise them to note on your reservation that you will be bringing a pet. Their will be a small pet fee charge when you check in. Hopefully you are at least booked at full or a preferred campsite.

Have fun!

I would suggest that the next time you go back to make sure they haven't changed your loop to a pet overflow loop. This has been done the past two times we have gone...just a suggestion...

Shocker now more than ever your daughter will come in contact with pets. FW is letting pets move around FW in more place than ever before. Pets now can go on the sidewalk move from loop to loop and as Jen said more and more overflow pet loops. So don’t be mad if pets are around you.

Yea, I had thought of overflow pet loops but when I made my ressie they did indicate allergies were the reason for a non-pet loop request into the computer system so hopefully the person assigning sites will take it into careful consideration, it's not just a whimsy but an actual need. More importantly I'd like to get the message out to the OP and to all others reading that pets must be declared. Please don't try to "sneak" them into a hotel room. My DD was hospitalized out-of-town after a four night stay at a hotel with who-knows-what in that room. I now only reserve rooms at hotels that either don't allow pets or only allow them in the smoking rooms. Of course this plan doesn't work if the guest before us brought their pets anyway and thought it wouldn't matter. So, to the OP, it does matter, please declare.

Thanks everyone for listening and for caring.

do you carry an epi pen for your daughter??? sure sounds like she needs to have one at all times if she is that allergic!!!

No epi pen (yet!, we're only required to get one if we don't wait at the dr. for 20 min. after each shot) still using daily meds as well as weekly allergy shots (down from the 2 a week she was getting). The nebulizer (breathing treatments)goes on every trip now just in case--sure wish we didn't have to take so much precious luggage space to haul it but would be caught dead without it (ha-ha play on words, pun intended). She's under good control w/meds now and when she started kindergarten is when we found out she was reacting to hair brought to school on other children's clothes, those first few months of school were no fun. We also had to narrow our search for houses to those without cats (the worst offender) and have to be creative with our pet choices, currently fish but will have to entertain frogs, snakes, lizards, maybe a bird if she can tolerate the feathers.

Shocker, I would stay away from birds with the DD. It is not the feathers that you have to worry about, it is the "down" underneath and the skin. My parents have a bird (and have had one for 28 years) and it is a mess. Just trying to help...

Shocker, you also might want to be careful if you stay at any other WDW resorts, because several other Disers have service animals (dogs) that are allowed to room with them.

I do know at the regular resorts that you can request a special cleaning from Special Reservations, I have to because I am allergic to cigarette smoke and that can cause me to have an Asthma attack (I do carry an inhaler which can settle it if exposure isn't long). They change the filter in the vents, deep clean the carpets, put out a fresh comforter, which I don't use anyway and they sprayed the air with something, but it was almost odorless, but pleasant. I was rather pleased.

Hope this Helps.

Well, PricessSuzanne, it sounds like you understand our pain with the pet thing. It wouldn't be pleasant for you if people had "just one" cigarette in your non-smoking room before you arrive thinking there was no harm in it. People just need to be educated that pets and smoking need to be declared. On a lighter note, do you think DD will react when the dog sneezes on her during Honey, I Shrunk the Audience??:rotfl2:

We just got a new puppy yesterday to add to our family. We have 3 other dogs... we'll bring the puppy and one other dog with us to Disney in Sept. We'll board them at the kennels.

*not sure why I posted this... has nothing to do with the question... just wanted to tell ya'll I got a new puppy  We named her Daisy- after Daisy duck!! We already have a Belle. :lovestruc

I do know what it is like. ASMovies put us in a smoking room last June just days after the new rules of all rooms are non-smoking and that wasn't happening. I already had a cold coming on and when I opened that door and smelled that smoke, I almost passed out. I went straight to the front desk and got a different room. I also now know to request a special cleaning prior to check in. Now, someone with a Serfice animal will make preparations prior to a trip and the resort will know the dog is in the room, where it has a right to be, but you might want to request the cleaning, because you won't know it.

I can't answer the question about Honey, I shrunk gthe Audience, because I have never seen it, because of time and my fear of snakes.

Anyone know what do they do for a special cleaning? I've never heard of this. I'm scared to death of the BEDSPREADS.

It was listed in my previous post on page one, but I could tell that they had cleaned the carpets (they looked shampooed), I think it was a fresh bedspread, they changed the filters in the room, and sprayed it with something that I could slightly smell, but it wasn't over powering. I don't use the bedspread anyway, too hot natured, but I think it was a fresh one.

They won't do it just for fear, you have to have a medical reason for this, as I have Asthma and allergies that can make me sick.

Hope you don't get next to us if her allergies are that severe. We have 5 dogs that go camping with us a lot so our gear is one big hairball, least till the wind blows it all off.

Since most people camp so they can bring their pets with them, this could be a big problem at any C/G. We take 2 with us.

2 are miniature weiner dogs and one is a houndog so guess size wise we only have like 2 3/4 dogs :lmao:
