New PS rules for Princess meals, dinner shows and Fantasmic dinner package

Oh and yes if you dont cancel early enough then the whole amount is charged.

I made a Fantasmic Package PS a couple weeks ago & wasn't charged a deposit. They did ask for a credit card to secure the reservation & told me if I didn't show, I would be charged the full amount.

I did get charged the deposit for CRT, but this has been their policy for awhile now.

Along with safetymom's post that was just posted at 7:03pm CDT, this just came in the weekly AllEars newsletter:

WDW Dining Policy Change - As of August 29, 2004, full payment
will be required for the Hoop-Dee-Doo, Spirit of Aloha
Show and Mickey's Backyard BBQ at the time of booking. As long
as you cancel up to 48 hours in advance, you will receive a full
refund.

Still begs the question how the Princess Meals and the Fantasmic packages got lumped into this originally and now is not mentioned.

WDW Dining Announcement

On Sunday, August 29th, WDW Dining will not be accepting Priority Seatings until 12noon US Eastern Time for system enhancements. No CRT Priority Seatings will be taken until 7am on Monday, August 30.

Deb's information is correct. Only the dinner shows are affected. Please note the above WDW Dining hours for Sunday and the CRT announcement. So, if your PS call date is Sunday, you can sleep in!!

called wdw dining today, for my own peace of mind, got a great CM and she confrimed, CRT does need payment in full, as well as PSB .
all outhers if it is holiday .

hoping to help someone else....i wanted to be sure so i am ready when i start calling next ( i would have quite put-a-back if found out on the phone that i needed to pay in full at reservation time)

oh and dinner shows too....sorry

Misty89, don't know if you asked or if the CM even mentioned it, but is the Cinderella dinner at 1900 Park Fare included?

If you don't know, that's OK. I'm calling for that meal in about 10 days and I'll find out at that time. Just wondering if that came up in your conversation with this CM.

1900 park fare did come up, but i do not recall if it needed full payment sorry :( she did say it #3 in popularity (sp?) of the reservations.....crt #1 and then psb #2.
i start calling next week tuesday so, i will ask about it and post- unless someone else reads this first and replys before me!

I called last week (the 19th or 20th) and did a PS for Hoop-Dee-Doo for the end of next April. The CM did take may charge card and said it would be held just in case I was a no-show & I believe she said I would be charged the entire $49.01 each if I did not cancel within 48 hrs of the show. I asked if I would be charged in advance b/c this is a surprise trip for my DH and I didn't want him to see it on our charge card bill and she assured me it would not be charged it is only a security in case we didn't show for our PS.

Cindie-rella - That is the current policy. The new policy takes effect on Sunday (8/29) for new PS that are made. The new policy should not apply to previously made PS so you should still be fine.

Being unwilling to pay so far up front I got on the phone tonight and made HDDR ressies for January. Am I cheap or what? :smooth:

Even though Scottwdw posted both here and on his website that it's only the dinner shows, I am very curious as to whether that is true.

Both on this thread and on at least one other WDW dining board, persons have reported CMs telling them the princess meals are included in this pay up front policy that begins on Sunday.

Now I have been around enough to know that sometimes the CMs are the last to know, but it still makes me wonder.

Will be watching to see what people report.

I made priority seatings last week and they took my CC number for:

CRT
Princess Storybook BF
Hoop Dee Doo Review
and I think
Fantasmic Dinner Package

Made PS for Cinderella's breakfast and I am on the Gold Plan. My credit card was charged $20 ($10 for each adult) and was assured that the morning of my PS I would be credited back my $20 when I checked in and that it was preventing "no show" problems.

A pain in the but but no too bad. My only issue would be having a large party going to Hoop-De-Doo since Disney states it may take 2-3 credit card statements for your credit to show on your card.

Hope this helps!:wave2:

That is the policy as of today (8/28). For CRT and PSB, you have to pay a deposit of $10 per adult and $5 per child. HDD, they just took a credit card as a guarantee that you would show up.

The issue at hand is that supposedly tomorrow (8/29), a new policy will be in effect. How sweeping the policy is, what meals it covers, is the question.

Some have posted being told by CMs or reading on other boards that FULL PAYMENT (not just a deposit or a guarantee) is required at the time of PS for CRT, PSB, the dinner shows and Fantasmic as of tomorrow (8/29). Others have posted that it's only the dinner shows that will be requiring the FULL PAYMENT.

Regardless of which it is, some meals apparently are requiring full payment at time of PS. Which meals those are are the question because there is conflicting information.

bumping

CC was required to reserve. Booked for SOA @Poly, Thanksgiving Dinner @Crystal Palace, and Chef Mickey Breakfast. They have a 48hr cancelation policy and will charge you a set fee per person if you do not comply. For Crystal Palace it was $10/person.

Booked PSB last week - informed that a CC was needed to secure my reservation but it would only be charged $10 per person if I cancelled inside 48hours of the PS. No pre-payment required :)
