New Promotions on the Horizon!!!

Yes, definitely call. I called and found out I did have a pin for fd for our most recent trip in June. I never did receive a snail mail or email confirmation but I did have the pin. Had I not called, I would not have ever known. And for a two week trip for a family of four adults, that was our best discount. Far greater than the 25% off room I already had.

I will add that I had called several times over the weeks when I found out fd pins were circulating (found out from this board). Never had one and was told "if you don't have it now you won't ever have it". Wrong.

I feel bad for the cm's that answer calls all day for people checking for pins, but we didn't create the monster their employer did!

Most of them are very nice and very happy to check. And you will generally have them offer some tidbit of info about what they think future discounts will be, about pin code offers and how they work etc. And generally if you talk to 10 cms, you will get ten different predictions and answers! So no matter what they tell you, keep calling and don't take a thing they say as the gospel truth.;)

I'm hoping that this "Big Promotion" would actually SAVE me money...unlike the recent game on code, that charges more.

I also suggest if there is a known PIN out there and you call and they tell you that you don't have it - call back again later. I called and was told "no" - then my husband got a PIN on his email. I called to book with that and the CM discovered I had a PIN also - a better one - and it had actually been there awhile and was almost ready to expire! That was for free QS dining for my summer dates too! I never got an email or postcard and I'm very careful to check.

This PIN code thing is annoying - it seems so difficult to figure out if you have one or not. Sometimes I wonder if you call and ask if they don't attach one to your name later or something.

I just called and asked if I had any discounts or pin codes and they said no sorry you do not :sad2:

When I called (back in March I think) a lot of people were getting PIN codes for free QS dining for the summer. It seemed like everyone had a PIN. Right now I've seen a few people post that they got a PIN for free QS in November I think but I'm guessing as few posts as I've seen that it is a more limited PIN.

I'd call back in a few days to check again. It is just frustrating as back in March I would have not called back had my husband not gotten a different PIN - my PIN was days away from expiring at that point.:headache:

I would like to have a pin code for 40% off for Poly for next Sept.2012. I have awhile I guess to get one . We are going to POFQ this Sept. and I was hoping to get one now to change to Poly but that's not going to happen I dont think since it's so close to our arrival.

Just called about my "Game On" Pin as well. Room only 40% disco, but only if I moved to either All Star Movies or Music. Doesn't save our Grand Gathering all that much, so I declined. We'd hate to get FD or better and be stuck at a hotel we didn't want to stay at it.

Interesting note though...she mentioned the Game On pins expire August 14th. Hmmm....any relation to the rumored promotion for Aug 13th.....

Are the May 1-Nov. 19 "ticket upgrade" dates for 2012? I sure hope the ""mystery pin" is free dining that includes dates for our next trip May 30-June 8, 2012. We had free dining for the first time ever this past June 2-12 and it saved our family of 4 adults $1655.
My fingers are crossed for something that will save us some money!!! :thumbsup2

I just wish it was easier to call. It takes too long to get through voice prompts and then to be on hold just to be told "No Pin"

I called yesterday and asked if I had a pin- no :sad2: but in talking w/ the CM she seemed cheerful in saying to check back as I said I was hoping for a new promo for the fall (we're going 11/12-16).

wising for pixie dust!!!pixiedust:

I am hoping it is more of a general public code and not a PIN. Since others have posted about several PINS booking window expiring on Aug 14, my hope is that it will be free dining or 40% code for Disney Visa folks starting Aug 13 with the public code starting Aug 15. Of course as luck would have it though, we will be in route to PNS on Aug 13. But if it is released as a DV code first, maybe the rush of folks will not be so great in case I can't get to a phone to call for my discount until later in the day.:goodvibes

Just got off the phone with disney, CM, she told me that no pins codes are out yet, and to keep an eye out for the specials on the site, and to call as soon as I see one. So no one will tell you anything, going in December and need to know soon, or will have to change a few things, asked if I wanted to book dining.
:confused3

We will be at Shades of Green at that time. I would love to be able to book something for our Nov trip while I am there. We are really hoping for a DVC discount but my MIL wants to stay in the EPCOT areas and with the FW festival, I doubt that there will be a discount on the rooms there. But I can hope!

We were booked at the WL with tickets and dining for Oct. 1 - 8 - $4900. I've been waiting for a pin forever to get that rate down and finally gave up and decided to switch to Windsor Hills townhome offsite so we could have more space for a lot less money. When I called Disney to cancel, they told me essentially what a bad decision I was making (she wasn't rude but she was a litte snippy) and then she magically found a pin and said the code real fast (maybe JLX :confused3) and said lets see what this does for you. The offer she came back with was $4800 - the pin saved us $100 - really! After that she stopped being snippy and just did the paperwork on her end.

that was bordering on deceitful practices in my opinion. If Disney continues this behavior I will rethink ever staying on property. I might go as far as to say no more Disney for a while. Over the last two years we have taken other trips and I really don't miss Disney that much. Believe me there are other vacations out there.

I like Disney and it's a good fit for my family (one in a wheelchair), but not for full price or $100 off; they can keep it.

We've stayed at Windsor Hills in a condo and loved it. So quick to the parks!

I just called to see if we had a pin associated with our name and the agent confirmed we did. She first said that it was not good for the dates which we were looking for and then I asked what days they were good for and what the discount was.

The agent went typing for a moment and then asked if she could put me on hold. She came back on the phone and said that there is a pin code associated with my name at this time, but it is not active. So she could not tell me what days it was good for or what the offer was. She also could not tell me when it would become active.

Now I feel like a kid who sees a present under the Christmas tree and it is killing me to know what is inside the package... :rolleyes1

This trip is a big deal for us, it's the first time my children ( 6 and 7 years old) have ever been on a vacation, other then spending the night at Grandma's house. I've been soooo excited since we started planning - BUT the whole pin thing is really a turn off for me. It really seems like they're stringing people along, and playing games with us and I don't particularly like it as a business practice. Offering general public (or AP holder) discounts is fine, but sending out random pins to random people and having the CMs saying you have pins but they can't explain what they are for doesn't seem right to me.

Fingers crossed for something good and that it will make all happy :wizard::wizard:
Announcing something for 2012 would make me very very happy :banana:
