Well they finally did it! One AP for both DLR AND WDW!

Wow, what a great deal for WDW Premium APH. For only $81 ( a little more than a one day, one park ticket) more than the WDW Premium AP you also get the Premium benefits at DLR. Quite a good deal for all of you who have WDW AP.

For DLR AP holders it's still a good deal, but not such a great deal as the other way. The difference in price from a DLR Premium AP to a Premiere AP is $261. Which is less than the price of a 2 day, MYW PH with pluses. So if you are planning on spending more than 2 days in the parks and 2 plus days, it's a win-win situation.

Plus you'll get AP rates, so that's a good deal as well.

My question is-my currrent DLR AP exp. in October and we are planning on going to WDW in Sept. I would consider upgrading our AP to the Premiere one but not if it's only good for one month more. That wouldn't be worth it.

Also, I should be able to apply one of my unused one day base tickets from WDW to upgrade to a Premiere AP, right? Even if I buy it at DLR.

If I did get a Premiere AP I would definitely plan another trip to WDW within the next year. Which of course is their master plan, right?;)

Only problem I can see is at only $81 more than the price for a WDW AP this Premiere AP will bring even more guests to DLR. And we are already more crowded than I care for. And once WOC opens, watch out! :crowd:

The new Premiere AP are for sale at both DLR and WDW starting today, March 11th.

This is great news for me.
I am hoping to get to San Diego to visit my son who is stationed at Mirimar and he asked if we could go to DL while I was there so I will just add the $81 to my Ap rather than buying a two day pass.
Now I just have to try and save for the flight and a hotel.

$81 more is such a great deal! One day, one park tix is $72. Parking alone is $14. So for less than the price of one day with parking you get a whole year! How cool is that!

I paid $79 alone to add parking to my AP (not premium)

Have fun!

okay...please talk slowly, I am trying to absorb all this
I am going to disneyworld in may with my almost 3 year old, I have a 5 day ticket for me.
(hes free clearly, which is why he lucked out and got to come)
My whole family is going to disneyland in july.

SO, what does that mean for me? Should I get an AP, and where, before I leave disneyworld? My friend is traveling with me, we have the whole package, room/food/tickets. Do I wait until after I have used a day to do this, I can't add it ahead of time, since she doesn't need that feature.

And the best part....does this mean I HAVE to make a quick trip down to the world within the next year to make it worthwhile!! (ha ha!!)

So, please explain this to me....

I believe that they way it would work that once you are there, and before you leave, you will want to upgrade your 5 day ticket to the Premiere AP. Since your AP will be valid for one year from the first day you use it there is no reason to not do it the first day you use your 5 day ticket. Then you'll be able to get any AP discounts available from the start of your trip. :goodvibes

According to the info on Disney's website you can get your Premiere AP at any guest relations window at the 4 main parks, or at DTD.

I think that about covers it, other than yes, this will mean you should try to schedule at least one more trip to WDW within the next year. (Hmm, could that be Disney's evil plan??:rotfl:)

I am on the west coast and was given a generous gift of $300 to use toward a Disneyland AP (I have not purchased it yet). I am also heading to WDW in a few weeks (I purchased a Disney vacation package that included a 5-day pass). Would I be able to apply the price I've paid for the 5-day ticket and use it toward the premier annual pass? If so, I'm guessing it would give me a value of $237, add to that the $300 cash that I'd use for DL, and I'd have $537. Then I'd just need $700-$537 = $163 additional (plus tax), right? Since I can't even buy a 3 day WDW pass for $163, I'd be ahead if I made just 1 more trip to WDW in the next 12 months (which is a strong possibility). Plus, it would actually give me a much better DL AP than I can get for $300 (because parking is another $99). Does it make sense to go for the Premier in my case? Oh, and would I need to decide before I go through the turnstiles on that first day at WDW (does my pass need to be unused when I go to guest services?).

Thanks

If you have not yet purchased your DL AP, you can decide to upgrade your MYW ticket to a Premier AP after you have used it. In fact, it is better to use it first. You will get the gate value of the MYW ticket credited toward your upgrade, which may be more than you paid.

If you have a DL AP, then you need to upgrade using the MYW ticket before it is used to get any credit for it's value when upgrading to the Premier AP. -- Suzanne

I agree completely with Suzanne (above).

Thank you both for the information. It was very helpful. :)

I arrived in Orlando today, checked in and got my KTTW (5 day base ticket) pass. I went to EPCOT, used my KTTW card to get in. I stopped at Guest Relations on my way out. They were only going to give me $169 credit on my ticket, saying I used a day. Plus they said I only paid $212 for my tickets ( saying I got a discount on the pass b/c I bought a Disney vacation package). I was shocked. I told them I was told it is better to buy the pass after the first use, and I asked if that info was not correct. They finally offered to gave me $212, indicating they'd do it since I was told something incorrect, but that they don't normally. Does all this sound right?

Thanks

I purchased the Premier AP last year when it came out. Believe me, it has been totally worth it. I got it at WDW and even got the extra 3 months they were offering. In addition to the numerous times I have used it at WDW, I have already used it twice at DLR resort this year. It has definitely paid for itself. I will definitely purchase another one.:cheer2:
