The nice DVC villas on the lake have their own laundry facility
Most likely the 1, 2 & 3 bedroom DVC's also have their own laundry facilities.

But for a Studio DVC at the Polynesian - where is the laundry room located?

Does anyone have an answer or guess?

Thank you ;)

I also heard the Poly resort has it's own pool and the Poly DVC has it's own pool
Those staying at their side of the resort can only use the pool on their side of the resort.
So DVC uses the DVC pool and the resort uses the resort pool.
Enter the pool with your room "key" (wristband) - which I assume the new wristbands are waterproof, or I hope they are.

I've heard the laundry room will be in Moorea (was Tahiti). Pools will be shared at the resort unless something comes up later on like with BLT.

Could we request Moorea (was Tahiti) for our DVC studio room?

From what I have heard, there is supposed to be a laundry room in each longhouse. If you look at the model rooms closet, you will notice a laundry basket in each closet to make it more convenient.

As others mention, pools will be shared. The main pool area is under construction. They are adding a kids play area and reports are an infinity hot tub to this area. This is scheduled to be completed this spring.
Once the main resort pool is completed, the East pool will undergo a major change. Supposed to be a complete redesign. This pool is located on one side of the DVC Tokelau building. This construction will not be done until winter 2016 (Dec 2105-Feb 2016).

If you book Lakeview, you will always get it. I would think those in standard views could request it.

Information on the laundry was incorrect. Tikiman noticed the new resort map shows the DVC laundry is only located in Moorea.

Sad that they decided to have 360 studios share one laundry room. Hope they made sure it has a lot more washers and dryers than other resort laundries we have seen.

Another option is to give tokens to DVC members so they can use the Poly's main laundry facility, which is next to Lilo's Playhouse and close to the Tokelau and Pago Pago Longhouses. Aulani has two public laundry rooms and gives tokens to DVC members who wish to use the washers and dryers.

New close up map of the studio longhouses showing just 1 laundry facility in Moorea . (Thanks to Steve's facebook page , aka Tikiman , and also DVC mike for the pics (I think?) ) .

The two pools are for all guests.

Magic Bands are water proof.

So there will be a grill area !!!!
Does anyone know if these will be gas grills like GFV and will they be ready by May ???

There is most likely or definitely only 1 laundry room location. Not sure if this info was in another blog, but I ran across a pretty amazing site that shows realtime use of all Disney laundry rooms.
http://www.laundryview.com/disneyworld/ or laundreyview dot com forward slash disneyworld if the site removes the URL automatically. Even though its not a link for a commercial use, it may do that.
Deducing that it only shows one laundry room for the DVC Studio/Bungalows, I would safely assume there is only one.
It shows the number of washers and dryers available, their real time use (updated once a minute) and a chart showing the stats for the last 14 days. That's great since it gives you an idea of when you can go when it is a low period. It even shows the remaining time on a machine. Unfortunately, it doesn't give the specific longhouse where the laundry is located.

It has been confirmed that there is only 1 DVC laundry facility in Moorea.

Assume info has been updated about units at poly since this post was 02/22/15. Only Standard Studios, "Lakeview" Studios and the Bungalows are at Poly

I'll be staying in a studio for five nights at the Poly DVC Villas (I'm travelling alone) for the Star Wars Darkside Race in April. Good to know about my laundry options because I like to launder my running clothes before I head home. BTW, thanks sebouol for the link to laundry view. I only wish they had an app.

bummer about app- i was going to check for that. would be great to check on phone to save a trip to laundry room especially if you aren't close

Not really an app, but they do have an excellent mobile site that is very smartphone friendly . Very easy to use !

Just back today from Poly, studio villa. We were in Pago Pago with NO LAUNDRY at all in the building. This was my only complaint. The upside, for me, was that it was the closest building to the TTC which was a major plus. We often got off at the TTC site preferably if on the resort Tram, much closer.

The room was beautiful. A modest kitchenette (we have previously stayed in a 1BR or 2BR, but had a smaller party this time) with paper plates/bowls and plastic utensils. The small fridge was just a fridge. No freezer option on the top rack. Great bathrooms. Separate 2nd shower room with sink was a big plus.

I would definitely stay here again but as the others posters have stated, may need to request the other building/lake view to get laundry in house.

Currently at Poly in a studio -booked standard (i.e. not lakeview studio though room in Tokelau -2913- Second floor- known as building 9 by staff room 13 has a good view of the beach and lake. Can see Floridian from balcony very well. Can lean out over balcony just a little to see fireworks at MK. Can see the Electric light water parade very well. This room is 2nd from the end on the pool side. Across hall on end of floor is 2915 and directly across from me is 2916.

Here's a response to some of the questions in the thread and additional info as well.

Laundry is in Moorea. Ignore the paperwork in the folio that indicates that the machines will take credit and debit cards. This is misleading since DVC members don’t pay for the running of the machines. I went to front desk and they were confused at first and had to go in the back to get the correct info. The lock for the laundry room will only allow DVC members to enter the room when you use either your magic band or a resort card if that is what you are using. You just load the machine and then push the lever in to start them.

Fridge is like other properties but as Sepo said- no freezer section. It is well designed though since door has about 8 spots for 12 oz. drinks and other spots on door (shelves that can hold about another 12 drinks. Interior can hold 3 gallons of milk (Costco size at least- tall and skinny). 2 other shelves - can hold a lot sandwich meats, cheese, etc. You could always take out one of the racks so there is more room. Guessing about 8-10” between first rack and next one up and then about 8-9” from that rack to top of fridge. Quite roomy.

Low down on bathrooms.

1st bathroom as you come in on left (in this unit) has a sliding wooding door (though not well and needs attention) with an interesting lock feature after it is completely closed- latch on door that prevents door from opening back up- it cantilevers down out of door. If a small child would lock themselves in inadvertently, there is a hole on outside of door like many homes’ door knobs have to insert a metal pin to push it to unlocked position.

In this unit on the right is a door that connects to 2914.

1st bathroom has a bathtub and a shower head in it as well. Nice rotating head for a variety of strengths and delivery of water- water pick of sorts. It also has a sink with 2 small drawers. Sink has two small drawers in middle and two shelves on right and one opening on left- trash can goes in here. Mirror has 2 lights built into it- nice feature.
This bathroom has the toilet in it. It is huge inside. I suspect this room complies with ADA to allow a wheelchair in it. This way front desk doesn’t have to worry about putting someone with a disability in a specially designed room. But, I don’t think this studio has either a door bell that activates a light in the room so it really isn’t a ADA room.

2nd bathroom has a larger sink with two drawers. The hair dryer was in this room. There’s not one in the 1st bathroom. This bathroom has a slate floor with only a shower. Shower is slate throughout with glass door. Shower is nice. There is a large head out of the ceiling that can be pivoted (rotated direction). Also, you can choose to have the water come from one of the removable wands that has a great method of changing the water pressure, size, etc. Sliding door in this bathroom works well- doesn’t stick.

Nice feature in both bathrooms. The fans have sensors that turn on the fan when they pick up movement. You won’t leave the fan on as a result.

In the inset on the right where connecting room door is you can put your laundry basket and anything else here that you want to get out of the flow of the room.
Then there’s a very nice size double door closet where safe is as well.

Then you have the microwave up top and a cabinet beyond that. There’s also a small cabinet above microwave where the door opens up. On the bottom, you have the fridge then a cabinet and the sink. There’s no drawer for utensils since sink is there. Doors have the quiet close feature on them. You won’t wake someone up if you are up making a sandwich since they don’t bang close. But, microwave is way loud when done.

On the right beyond kitchen area is the television on wall with the bed that unfolds out of the wall. Small table is beyond that. BTW, the outlet here has one plug and two usb plugs where you can charge electronic items. There’s also another outlet below this one where the small lamp is connected.

Beyond 2nd bathroom is the queen size bed with small bedside cabinet on either side that have one electrical outlet and two usb connectors in them as well. It is difficult to see to plug in since they are about 8” inset and it’s dark inside. The bed has two drawers underneath it for storage at head of bed and an empty space at foot- put suitcases here.

The sofa is a queen size bed as well and unlike other properties has a very comfortable foam mattress. It says it was designed just for Disney. There’s also a wooden chest in front of sofa that opens up for storage inside.

Couple of negatives.

There’s no ceiling fan. Think this would be something that would have been installed as other properties have them.

There’s really not a lot of drawer space if 5 people are in room. There could be a little more, but not sure where they would have put it.
