Hello fellow DVCers!

I was making a ressie for a non-member guest the other day and was informed by the DVC rep I spoke with that DVC has now implemented starting today (1/3/07) a very strict policy in which you have to provide all the names of the party, if there are children, you have to provide their ages, addy and phone number for your party.

Just wanted to give everyone a head's up who may not already know this!

Happy New Year to all!

I think when we book our own vacation we have to list all the names in the party and their ages. We've been doing this for a few years.

I don't think this is new. We have had to do this for some time when making our reservations.

I have done that before as well, both with my family and guests. However, I have never had a problem making changes (ie, adding kids later, adding adults later, or changing the names of the guests entirely).

I have been asked for that info by MS since 2004, I don't think this is new or a check against so called commercial renters. I was told the info is to know who the guest in the room are. My brother has rented his points when needed for over 10 years, always been asked for that info.

I think this stops someone from calling in now and reserving rooms for prime time (like Dec.). When I called yesterday (1/2) for this coming December, I mentioned that I wasn't sure if my friend's husband would be joining us. The CM told me, no problem, I can always add him later.

She said what was happening is that someone would call and reserve 10 rooms all in their name only for the same time frame. I think it's safe to say that if someone had family/friends coming with them, they will know all their names. If I were someone tying up rooms on the speculation I could later rent them out, I wouldn't.

I wonder what will happen if the DVC owner winds up changing all the names. None of the new people have the same last name or even live in the same part of the country. I guess this could be one way to start to go after reservations made on spec and then sold.

I'm all for it. If someone wants to rent their points that's their bussiness, but don't hog up the good dates.

I called today and was not asked for addresses. I made a reservation for 12 in a GV. I was asked for everyone's name and the ages of the 6 kids. That was it.
