I am just finishing up my next Photopass CD and noticed the site has had some changes. It is now different when you first start up and I was hoping that the summer borders had been added. They aren't, however, the Tink Border "Where Dreams Come True!" has finally been changed.:goodvibes Tink no longer is flying high on the right side but is down on the left side facing towards the right, right at the beginning of "Where Dreams Come True!" Tink's outfit is now a darker green as is Disneyland under the slogan. Also there are now stars, etc running down both the right and left sides.

I can post a pix of the new border once I get my CD (ordering on 6/26).

I actually like the old style a little better-I think it's cool with Tink up in the sky but it was time for a change. But this border will probably be easier to use since it's mostly across the bottom.

The good news is that if you already did edits and added the older Tink border you will still get it (just don't change it!) As long as it's saved with the older one you will still get it. You can still play around with it but if you save it with another border you can't get it back. Now you can also save it with the new one as well. ;)

That's the only change I found. WDW has the same change. That is the only new ones I found. Still nothing for Summer yet. :confused3

For those of you who haven't seen the former Tink border (been around for years now) here it is...
(See how the Tink can get lost in the upper corner?)

I noticed that, too! I'll have some w/ each of them in my picts. :)

Let me know if you see any new ones appear! :)

Tink can get hidden depending on the background, although I tend to not use that specific border on a photo where I know she will blend in to the scenery. It's too bad, though, because sometimes you want a particular border or effect on a certain shot, and there is just no way to work the border into it without something getting blocked out or obscured. Some borders work so perfectly with certain pictures, and some pictures are almost better left without borders at all.

This is one of my favorite Tinkerbell shots because the border just worked perfectly with the space in the upper right corner:

What a beautiful pic!!:flower3:

Thank you!:goodvibes

We got very lucky with that particular photographer, as he was one of the ones who was taking extra time with everyone (no matter how long the line was!:rotfl2:) to make sure he got the best shots. I know some folks in line were kind of annoyed that he was taking so long with each group, but when I saw the finished product I was very pleased because the Winter Castle came out perfectly.

If he had been one of those photographers who rushes the people hastily through, that Castle would have been one blurry mess or we would have been washed out or something. I have a 'blurry mess photo' from 2008 of my friends in front of the DCA Christmas tree at night - that PhotoPass person just hustled us along, and you can't really do that with night shots. You kind of have to take your time to get it right, unless you are a master of the DSLR!

Anyway, Tinkerbell's old border worked perfectly for that shot! The new border, as Dizneydaz describes it, doesn't sound like it would work as well on this particular picture.

I agree Sherry, a very nice shot.:goodvibes I like using the old one on night photos. And the old Tink definitely works with it. For the new one just imagine Tink (in darker green) in front, and a little over, the "W" with stars, etc. going up both sides. Too bad they couldn't leave both.

I would love to see a pic of the new border... :)

I really like the old style one - we are lucky to have a few with that one :goodvibes

Will be anxious to see the new summer borders, hope they have some very cool, brightly colored ones for the summer. Yeah.:goodvibes

As always Dizdeydaz, can't wait to see your photopass photos, I am sure you have some great ones, do they have any new magic shots?:goodvibes

Aw, I'm kind of sad to hear this. I loved the way that Tinkerbell framed shots, especially when they were in portrait (I didn't find her to work well with a landscaped orientation). My favorite part about that fram was that it didn't go all the way around. Just the text at the bottom and Tinkerbell up the side. I loved the mirrored L orientation and you said that the new frame has stars going up both sides? So the top is the only edge that is empty? That just really bothers me from a composition aspect. Oh well, what can you do other than not use it, lol.

No new Summer borders yet and no new "magic" ones either. Though my DSis and her DH did get one at AK that I hadn't seen before. They are holding a box and Stitch is bursting out of it. Very similar to the Christmas package one they took at DCA in 2009.

I ordered by CD on Sunday so I will post the new border as soon as I get it.

Thanks for the compliments jnjusoioa. We actually didn't get many pictures on this CD. Seems like there weren't as many PP photogs around. They are mostly with the characters, and at the main icons.

Belle, on the new frame the Where Dream Comes True is still across the bottom and Tink is of the the left of the W. What goes up the sides is some stardust. Yes, the top of the frame is empty.

I think it would have been nice as long as they were changing it if they could have added the year, sublty. I like having a year border to use but I don't really like the one with M&M and 2011 in so many colors. (It's so big that it can't be used much) Sometimes something a little more subtle would be nice. Also, they got rid of the small DL and DCA logos that fit in the lower right corner. Again, I don't always want a big, bold, colorful border. I wish they (the powers that be at Disney) would recognize that not everyone who buys PP pix or the PP CD wants the character based borders. More subtle borders like the white and gold one would be nice. Also, it's about time they replaced a few of the Fairies and Princess and the Frog borders. How many of those do you really need?

I would love to see some borders that you could see through. Like the hitchhiking ghosts-that would be cool!

BTW, I just checked an my CD shipped yesterday. And there are still no summer borders. Wouldn't a border with fireworks be cool? Especially on night shots. :wizard:

I just checked my tracking and the CD has already been received locally. However, I know that just because it is already nearby that doesn't mean I'll get it in the next few days. Since it was sent regular, not express, they tend to hold on to them a little longer.:confused3

What an awesome picture! That border was just meant for it. :)

Thanks :thumbsup2 Still sounds like a bit of a downgrade to me rather than an improvement but I suppose I can reserve my personal judgment until I see it.

Got my new PP CD yesterday.

Dizneydaz -

As always, I love your PhotoPass pictures. Your family is adorable. (Is that your sister in the black shirt next to you? If so, you guys look so much alike!) I especially love the Castle shot.

But.....just as far as the Tink border itself goes, I have to admit...I prefer the old one! Am I the only one who feels this way? I find myself chuckling as I say I prefer the old border because I was always grumbling about the lack of new choices for borders on the PhotoPass site! I was tired of seeing the same old borders every time I went on to edit my photos. I was especially bored with the choices for December 2010 (the nighttime Winter Castle photo that I posted earlier was from 2009) and I was even beginning to question whether or not I would continue to use the PhotoPass borders for each trip.

So now that they are changing it up a bit on the PhotoPass site and adding in some new stuff, I find I like the old stuff better!:rotfl2:

It's not that I dislike this new Tinkerbell border. I like it well enough. I like the pixie dust around the frame. I'll definitely use it for something or another when I get another CD. But something about the old border appeals to me more on an aesthetic level. Not sure why.

Thank you for showing us what the new one looks like!:goodvibes

ETA: I'd be curious to see this new border on a nighttime shot, to determine if I like it any better! Did you get any evening photos?

You're not alone Sherry, I prefer the old one. I didn't think I would like this one very much simply from the description but I dislike it even more now that I can actually see it. Phooey.

I'm undecided on the new boarder. It lightens and blurs out a lot of the photo. I am thinking that this white mask they have put around the edge won't work at all for darker or night time photos.

I really like it as well! I also love the stars:lovestruc I do wish, however, that tink was still using her wand over the words!:wizard:That, to me, is true Tink magic!!princess:

It's funny you mention the wand. My girls are big fans of the 'new' Tinkerbell movies (and the books). Tink (or any of the other Neverfairies) doesn't have a wand. (In fact, in one of the books, the fairies had to go on a quest to get a wand, but I digress...) Anyway, any time they see Tink with a wand, they question me about it "Tinkerbell's not supposed to have a wand, Mama!"

Anyway, I like both of the borders - I wish they would leave the old one and have the new one, too...
