I like it! I changed a ressie today and basically got a "free" upgrade!

This is a direct quote from the Allearsnet newsletter, and I hope I am not violating any copyrights by posting it here

Disney announced today (January 10, 2006) that it has replaced
the Passholder Best Rate Program with a new "2006 Passholder
Benefit." The new program eliminates the 60-day advance booking
requirement of the old Best Rate program. Passholders can now
book a room right up to their travel period (subject to
availability). Passholders who prefer to plan ahead still have
that option and will now be able to see available offers online
months in advance. Normal deposit/cancellation fees apply.
Reservations for Passholders who have already booked a room
through the Passholder Best Rate Program are not affected by
this change.

No one else is excited about this??? I think it is far superior to the old Best Rate Program. Now we are on even footing with the AAA folks.

As someone that took advantage of the old AP rate to book last minute trips I personally am thrilled. I have a trip booked for April using BRP and I never really liked the "cancellation policy" that they tacked on. I think this will allow more people to take advantage of the last minute rates.

Lots of people are excited about this. If you search through this forum you will see several threads about this, dating back to within minutes of the announcement. I think the reason you're not getting many replies is that it's kind of "old news" already!

Edited to add: I would be a lot more excited if they would announce rates for check-in dates beyond April 8th. Lots of us have been waiting for weeks for the opportunity to book rooms in late April, May or June.
