So it was, what, ten years from MK to Epcot, seven years from Epcot to HS, and I believe about ten years from HS to AK. It's been fifteen years this time.

From what I understand, DW has plenty of room to build a new park. Do you think we will see one within the next, say, ten years? And if so, what would be your guess at the theme?

If another is built, I would like to see one with more adult appeal. Somewhat like Islands of adventure or Busch gardens. More thrill rides. Rollercoasters and such.

While I would love a IoA-type park, Disney has repeatedly emphasized their focus on expanding upon the current parks, which is a less risky and cheaper form of expansion.

If we're talking totally blue sky stuff here, I'd love to see a whole Star Wars themed park. Visit Tattooine, Hoth, Endor, Dagobah, big Spaceship Earth-esque Death Star in the middle, etc.

Do I see this happening? Not really, but a guy can selfishly dream, right?

I really don't think there will be a 5th gate in the next 10 years. I believe that any expansion in the parks will be made in the current four since that does not require a whole new investment in infrastructure. There's still lots of room in the Studios, AK and Epcot for more attractions.

I'm sure they could even find more room around the MK to put something in there, but doubt that would happen now that they've just finished new FantasyLand.

Chance of a new park in ten years is zero.
Hopefully they will fix their two broken parks though (Epcot Futureworld and DHS) by then. Seems like AK is getting some attention so hopefully the other 2 are next.

There is already more than enough to do in a standard 1 week vacation. Adding another park in Florida would just cannibalize the other parks.

They have built more parks just not in Florida. How many parks have they built worldwide since AK?

Curious what you mean by broken? Outdated?

I'd like to see something geared towards the villains of disney! that would be very cool! the rides and attractions can be a bit riskier, but still appealing to families.. maybe those with older kids that no longer see a thrill in dumbo, but not ready for super thrill coasters.

Body Wars is still broken (and I think not used). There's that other pavilion near Mexico that is private party-only, and I'm not sure what you call Captain Eo

That's 3 of the Future World pavilions that need serious work.

Next new Disney park to be announced will be in Brazil, not Orlando.

SWEET! Hope they finish it by 2016. I'm going to the Olympics ;)

I'd call the Backlot Tour "broken". I'd still ride it, but it makes me so sad.

Never say never, but I seriously doubt there will EVER be a Fifth Gate.:)

There really is just no "need" for another Park.:)

I'm with you on this one!!!

Imagine life size X-Wing Fighters, Tie Fighters and a Millennium Falcon!!:banana:

I don't see Disney adding another Park in Florida anytime soon.

Since Hollywood Studio's opened, Disneyland Paris opened in 1992 and Disneyland Hong Kong opened in 2005.

Shanghai Disney is scheduled to open in December 15, 2015.

I still don't know why they are making an Avatar Land at Animal Kingdom. That movie hasn't been relevant for quite a few years, though I did recently hear about an Avatar 2 scheduled for release in Dec 2016 and then an Avatar 3 in 2017.

I still think that Star Wars has more staying power and a wider demographic range. Heck, the first Star Wars movie came out in 1977 and people are going NUTS over Mark Hamill making an appearance at SWW next weekend.

They started construction of Shanghai Disney in 2011 and it will open in 2015. No possible way they can have a Disney Park ready to be opened for the 2016 World Cup. Sorry.

I know. That's what my winky face was for.

They need to quit dabbling in other countries and improve things here at home instead. Who are they, the federal government?

;)

Yes!!!! I would be at the opening day if a Star Wars park was built!

If the movie next year gets a positive response, I think that could at least increase the chance.

I agree. I don't expect it to happen, but Disney's acquisition of the Star Wars franchise and plans for a sequel trilogy and some spinoff movies has to increase the odds of another park a little bit. However, I would be more inclined to believe they would add significant SW additions to Hollywood Studios before building an actual park.
