New parade - yikes!

I liked the costumes, they are so different from the stuff Disney has done in the past. They were all so vibrant and colorful they remind me of Cirque de Sole or something from the mind of Tim Burton. The floats look awesome too (saw them on the Disney Blog) again very new and different. I'm excited to see this!

I've taken my daughter to the museums in NYC. She was fascinated by the Roman sculptures. She has also been to live ballet performances. Have you seen what male ballet dancers wear? I do not think she would even blink at this. Oh, and she is 6 now, but she has been to ballet/museums since she was 3.

I was thinking that I liked those costumes and wondered what it was that people saw. I think that I might actually be interested in this parade. It has been a while since I bothered with a daytime parade.

My friend is there now and I told her if she should watch the parade be sure to let me know what she thinks of the new one...

The only thing offensive was that god awful ugly kilt. Ugh.

Otherwise, if the barbarians were "too tight," don't go to the theatre. Ballet, Modern, the costumes would be positively scandalous by those standards. Avoid museums, too.

I loved the winged costumes, and the thorn creatures. Disney does deal with the dark and beautiful too (Nightmare Before Christmas, anyone?), and there is a reason why fairy tales are appealing to children - even before Disney gets a hold of them.

Honestly, I had to replay the video a few times to see what people were talking about. Because I don't notice crotches that often - even at the ballet. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

The prob I'm having is with giggly tweens! When younger, it was over their heads.

I;m not even allowed to say "balls" out loud anymore or they giggle nonstop or are hopelessly embarrassed.

I can't even take them to an art gallery anymore. Last one we went to, they started giggling seeing a nude picture. I whisked them off to the next room. More nudes. I then move my giggling kiddos to wooden art only to find nude wood carvings. Finally I took them to a room of vases - should be safe, right? They started howling in laughter when they saw nude paintings on the vases!! I gave up and hustled them out apologizing to the staff and other visitors. No more art galleries for our family until they outgrow this stage!!

I think the costumes look interesting and different and will enjoy seeing how they tie in together with the floats. However, does anyone think some of the Sleeping Beauty costumes might scare younger kids? While I think the dragon float will impress many kids, if you add the thorn guy and the bird, the combo seems a little frightening. Guess we'll see!

I love the new look. They are taking a bold,, new direction. I only have a problem with the swan dress. That's a rip off of Bjork's Oscar dress!

We took the Keys to the Kingdom tour several weeks ago and we were able to sneak a look at several of the floats under construction. They were beautiful! Very excited to see the parade come together with the costumes.

This made me smile! My DS is 14 now and all it takes is one of us making eye contact with the other and he will start smiling:). I miss the giggles, but if I want him to do that I bring one of his friends! Yes, it can be embarrassing, but enjoy it if you can. It will be gone in a blink of an eye.

I can't believe people are saying they would rather want the CADCT parade back after just seeing a few costumes from this parade. These costumes are amazing and are on par finally with what one can find at DL, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. This parade is going to be epic, and much more artistic/theatrical than anything WDW has done in a long time or ever. This parade will be classic Disney, Mickey, Minnie, Princesses, all the characters will be there. I'm not sure why people are comparing this to the castle cake, or saying the creators must have been on drugs because the costumes are more elaborate and creative than the cookie cutter costumes that were from CADCT.

I'm surprised at some of the comments!

I come from a theatrical back ground after being a dancer for 23 years and in the royal ballet for 12 years!! And stage for nearly all of that time including the west end.
And All i can say is this is what costumes of this nature should look like! They are an extension of the float,
I think this parade will be amazing and something very different that Disney will do really well at,

As the the guy in ballet tights! Wow big deal!! Lol if you watch ice skaters or ballet dancers this is what you would see I don't see the problem?

I don't think anyone has a problem with the costumes (except, maybe the ugly kilt).. I think it's just, sometimes, a little immature humor can be fun.

Yes, this is what costumes like this should look like.. however, Disney has always been modest. Disney's men have worn tights, but there's always been a waist cover of some sorts. It's unexpected.. you would never see nipples through a body suit.

I have to laugh because some 2 1/2 foot tall child is going to get an eyeful.
