I heard that they are coming out with a special edition of the Pal Mickey this May. Does anyone know what he will look like or know where to view pictures of him? Just wondering :wave2:

I'm intrerested also! Does anybody know. I'm hoping it comes out early when I'm there April 2nd. But if not I'll probably by the old one.

I don't think the new one will come out until May - when the Happiest Celebration officially starts. Just after our trip....... sigh.

I've scoured the net, but the only info I've seen is from what people have said on the boards. I'd like to know more about it, if anyone knows.

Question about the old Pal....

I've seen them on ebay and was about to bid until I saw this thread. Now I will probably pay full price and wait until we get there in Nov or order online.

I did see though that there have been 2 different versions. Is this the case? And what is the difference between 1.0 and 1.1?

Thanks for any help!

What type of batteries does pal mickey take??

There's a cute little pic of the new Pal Mickey in the latest Mickey Monitor (for AP holders). He's dressed in a little black suit jacket with a yellow bow tie (other than that he looks exactly the same to me). Here's the info they list on him: "New Pal Mickey debuts May 2005 (with a free Pal Mickey T-shirt for (annual) Passholders. Pal Mickey has been your Theme Park insider, and now he's full of even more helpful reminders, tips, showtimes, jokes and fun facts, including just about all there is to know about the 'Happiest Celebration On Earth'" Cost is listed as $60.00.

I was there with my son the first year Pal Mickey came out so he had the old/first one. Then last MNSSHP I sat him on the atm at All Star Sports, then we rushed back to get him 20 minutes later when we realized he was gone but someone had mickeynapped him.

My son was devestated so I bought him one of the "new" ones. Now I didn't really notice any differences until my son pointed them out and that he wanted his "old" Pal Mickey back.

1) The "new" PM's were "fat",
2)their clothes didn't fit nearly as well (he looked like a plumber mickey the way his pants hung down in back...no offense to plumbers...),
3)the inside casing of the two were diferent colors.
4) The old PM's would wait 30 seconds after each joke or spoken message when in the park so that you could press his hand to re-tell it again incase he was on you're belt and you couldn't hear. The new ones were rather annoying in that the delay wasn't there anymore and you could just cycle through all the jokes.
5) Overall the new ones seemed cheaper made with less quality control. The first one i got him after we lost his old one had to be replaced because he wasn't working right.

My son still mourns the loss of his old Pal Mickey but I was fortunate enough to find someone on the DIS boards here who had a old one and traded him for it. He was quite happy to get it and I just hope we never loose him again because I just don't think he would settle for one of the "new" versions.

I do not understand how people could be so mean so to take someone elses belonging?? They could have at least turned him in to lost and found!! I am sorry to hear about that :sad2:

Well on a happier note... my niece was carrying pal mickey and left him by the soda machine in WL snack bar. We didn't notice he was missing for about 20minutes. I ran back and he wasn't there. I asked CM (we had a metal blue clip on him) if they had seen it and low and behold someone had turned it in.

We bought it one our first day. We had to get a replacement 3 times due to it not working.
