new pal mickey in may

i know there is supposed to be a new pal mickey released in may. Does anybody know when exactly??? i will be arriving the first week in may and should i buy pal mickey now or wait and hope the new one is there when I am.

I think the Mickey Monitor newsletter from Disney said they will start selling it on 5/5/05. I would definitly wait and get the new version. That's what i'm going to do.

Don't worry you can still use the Pal Mickey that you have, he will still work. And when you walk through the gates he will get updated with the info. he needs to tell you. So you don't need to buy the new Pal Mickey, unless you want too.

You are correct that the original Pal Mickey's will still work. However, the updated information they get when they come into the park is limited to the current operational information. Both the original and new Pal Mickeys are updated inside the parks with the current attraction wait times, show times, character locations etc. However, the original toys will not provide any information about the new attractions built since 2003.

The new toy is supposed to have over 25% new content, 3 new games, sing-a-long songs and much better jokes. He comes with a carrying lanyard and the speech volume is much louder so you can hear him better inside the parks. Well worth the price.

But I do have one more question. How much does he cost? I have read reports ranging from $60 to $80. I think $60 is an outdated price..I am guessing that was the 2005 price of the old PM. Allears is saying $65 and I trust that source the most, but where did this $80 amount come from (even with taxes, it is only $72.48...that would be some very generous rounding). Is there any type of "add-ons" that could make the new PM more expensive?
