New package price compared to AAA price?

Does anyone know if the new package that came out this morning is "better" than the AAA discount on the room only? I have a AAA discount on a GF garden view room, and Disney.com is not showing any availability at the GF right now. I don't want to go on a wild goose chase if it isn't going to be worth it.

I booked AAA previously, too. Here is what I posted over on the other thread, hope it helps!


Here's my experience and info:

We were already booked with a ROOM ONLY, AAA discount at the Polynesian, in a lagoon view concierge room. Price: $2328.00 for 4 nights.

Tickets would've been $468. (4 day park hoppers).

Total WAS $2796.


I called today and asked to book the Package using YQC code.

The CM looked, and much to my surprise, there was a discount package available for the Polynesian, lagoon view concierge.

The new price is: $2575.

SAVINGS: $221. OVER AND ABOVE the AAA discount we already had.

Oh, and I was on hold for about 25-26 minutes, from 7:01am until about 7:26am.


P.S. The only real difference between booking the room only and booking this package is that now we have to pay in full, by tomorrow. Whereas before, we'd already paid the 1 night deposit, and the rest was not due until check-in. Not a problem for us, but it could be a consideration possibly for others.

EDITED TO ADD: Just out of curiosity, I checked to see what our room would cost without the AAA discount, to find out what the true YQC discount is. If we had not already had the AAA discount, this discount would've saved us about $479. Not too bad

for dec 10 through 17, sav view at akl, and seven-day hoppers for three adults, one child, i was quoted 2996.61 using code yqc.
my aaa rate was only 2768 (1858 for the room, 910 for the tickets)...
i'll stick with aaa.

Well I switched my room only AAA rate for Standard View at AKL to a Pool View (lowest catagory of room available) with the room only code and got $50 off.

Was $719 (or something like that) - now it's $669 for three nights.

I checked my dates of December 2-11. Right now we have AAA at POFQ standard view w/9 day park hoppers total $1764. They had a room at CBR standard view w/9 day hoppers for $1631 with code YQC. So it would have saved me about $130 over the AAA rate. I just can't change to CBR, since I've stayed there before I much prefer the POFQ since it's smaller...

Since the Disney website is now updated with the package I did some number crunching. The GF is not available for our dates, so I chose a room that has the approximate cost of a GF garden room before the AAA discount. I priced this room without the new code and with the new code. (10 day MYW no expire, park hopping, water park and dining plan)

The savings I have through AAA is better!

We currently have 6 nights in the CR tower on a AAA package (2 adults, 2 teens) with dining and 1 day MYW base tickets (have old park hoppers to cover the rest of the stay)....when I checked on line our dates were not available (11/2 - 11/8)...so I just played with dates....the same package was available a week or so later (same season) and the price was almost exactly $200 less than what we have payed through AAA for our dates....unfortunately our dates are not that flexible....so we will stick with what we have (no deluxes or moderates available for our dates....only thing available at discount for those dates was SSR studio...

oh well...saving $200 would have been nice, but at least it is not a humongous sum that would have made me cry to miss out on!!

and can't figure out where you can apply the code to get a quote for a package with dining. I was using the little red box on the bottom right for the discount without dining. That worked fine, but can't get the dining added. Can anyone help me out? Thank you, thank you!

When you choose the resort and ticket options a page will display. There is another 'tab' that says something like 'Alternate Offer' - this will have the dining included.

I'm saving $199.72 over my AAA reserv. Now comes the hard part calling the agent and cancelling. She isn't going to be happy. but i wanted to add a day and she said they were all sold out for that day with the code. Funny I went online and got a quote just fine with the extra day. Then just to be sure I called to book it. Went through fine.

I posted this on the other thread. I don't know what "code" my AAA agent used, but it saved me money over my AAA rate.

I had a AAA package, POR, two rooms (standard and king), 3 adults, 1 child, 5 nights, 6 day hopper with dining for a total of $2967.89

My AAA agent got the same exact package at $2611.37. A savings of $356.52.

I'm staying at POP (preferred) plus dining for 5 nights w/5 MYW base tickets. This is for 1 adult and 2 children (under 9). The new discount code saved me $62 more than the AAA discount. Not much, but I'll take it. My TA said Disney will refund my money to my cc.

Oh, and my vacation starts on a black-out date and I'm still getting the discount. Who knows, maybe it's only for part of the trip. My dates are 12/9 - 12/14.

I called my agent this morning and gave her the *** code. She got me an additional $156 off besides the $171 AAA discount I already had = $327. Now the funny thing about it is that the cost now is exactly what I found online trying the YQD code.

Are you saying that she should of gotten more that $156 with the *** code??

My AAA agent just called me.

The discounted AAA package that I booked in May is the best price for my hotel type(GF) and my time frame(11/27 to 12/3).

Well, at least she confirmed what I discovered yesterday.
