We purchased a resale at the BW! We are still so very excited about this purchase! We leave this weekend, we are staying on rented points at AKV, BLT and BC! Anyway a few questions.

Today we received our welcome package. From what I have read we need a card to prove ownership... ex. to receive a discount when making purchases, to go to the lounge at BLT. Is this correct or is the above only for direct buyers

Yes, you need the member card and photo ID to receive DVC discounts. I just returned and I used mine for all of my merchandise purchases, including the resort store for groceries.

You can get a card at one of the DVC resorts, I know SSR has them, not sure what others, maybe someone can answer.

And, yes, you will need it (and possibly an ID) to go to TOTW at BLT. Sometimes they will not ask for them, but yes the rules state you need them.

You can also use the card for some dining discounts and if I remember correctly some tours will give a discount.

Congrats! Have a great trip! I think I read someone got their card at the DVC desk at Kidani recently. I think I remember you're staying at AKV.

Your ID card will be mailed to you but it can take a few weeks. They are processed by an outside contractor in batches.

If you are at WDW, you can have a card made at SSR, BWV, BLT, and the AKV DVC sales offices.
