New owner - what to do with old banked points

Hello,

I have managed to buy an AKL 300 point contract. Disney didn't snatch it off me like the last two, everything has been signed and the cash has been wired. The contract has 111 points banked from 2023. The use year is August.

I am going to struggle to go anywhere before August and had some questions around how I could use them.

1. I assume I can't bank them again?
2. If I convert them to points for a cruise how long will they last? Can the booked cruise be after the end of the use year if I book within the use year?
3. Does any booking with them for DVC need to be for dates before the end of use year?
4. If I rented them do you think they would sell?

1. Points can only be banked once. The banked points will need to be used before the start of your 2025 UY.
2. Resale points cannot be used for a cruise.
3. Any reservations made with the banked points will need to end no later than August 1, 2025. IOW, checkout day is 8/1/25.
4. Any points will rent if you price them right.

Don't forget to bank your 2024 points if you don't expect to travel before 8/1/25. If you decide to rent your banked points, you might want to wait until they rent, just in case you need to add a few points from your current UY in order to book a reservation.

Just wanted to add that they *could* be used for a cruise if you worked with a broker who basically allows you to trade your rental points - instead of paying you cash they apply the amount towards a cruise. I have yet to do this but know many on this board do.

And adding: under the new rules adopted Dec 2024, you can transfer those banked points to another member who may want to use them.
