Hello to all.

First, let me say it is nice to find a site like this that facilitates the exchange of such great information.

Now to the questions:

-Is there a place that gives good info on banking and borrowing?

I just purchased 160 points at BLT (UY Feb.). There are 288 points available now (128 banked from 2010 and 160 current points) and 160 points coming 2/1/2012.

-What's the first date you can borrow next year's points? (Let's say were in 2012 and I wanted to borrow the points from 2013.)

-Does the $100 AP discount for DVC members apply to Florida resident APs?

-Since I am not in the system yet how can I find out if there is any availabity for BLT 2BR Park view villa any 5 nights starting Sept 11, 2010?

-Once the maint. fees are paid each year are there any other fees that you have to pay when you stay? (Parking, taxes, resort fees, etc...)

No. You can't mix discounts. The FL Resident APs are currently cheaper then the DVC Member APs.

You will want to make a reservation sometime between now and January 31, 2012 so you don't lose those 128 points from your 2010 UY. You can borrow points from your 2012 UY to make a stay that might require more than 288 points.

Don't wait too long to make a reservation because you are only seven months out from Jan 24, 2012 now. And many of those dates inbetween are going to be hard to get. Good luck. You'll have to wait until you are in the system to look at availability.

I honestly would just go to your DVC site and read the FAQs that are available there. They do a good job. Also, it never hurts to just call customer service... very helpful. I drove them nuts as a newbie

As PP mentioned, make sure you use, rent or do something with the 2010 points. You can only bank points 1 year, so in Feb 2012 those points are no longer good, and you will lose them. If you wanted to bank this year's points into next year, you have until Sep30 to do so without penalty (can bank within first 8 months).

Feb 1st... the first day of your current UY. You can only borrow points when actually making the ressie, and only from the next UY (although I heard that may be different now if booking a DC with points, but I don't know for sure)

There really is no way until you can call guest services with your contract number in the system. I called for you, and park view only available 11, 12... Bay view and standard only available 11-13. So far my experience with BLT has not been good. They are booked up solid all the time, especially with PV, but you never know? Of course, you now own BLT so for future trips you are in good shape with your 11-month window. You can always get your name on a waitlist

No fees that I can think of, unless you valet park.

you're at the right place.

you bank any time within the first 8 months of your use year. you borrow if you are making a reservation and need to borrow pts to complete it.

your 2013 pts are valid for stays from feb 1, 2013 to jan 31, 2014. if you borrow them, you can use them for stays from feb 1, 2012 to jan 31, 2013.

so the earliest you could have borrowed 2013 pts would have been if you wanted to book a stay for feb 1, 2012 at your home resort...you could have called on march 1, 2011 to book that stay by borrowing pts.

assuming you mean 2011, i would not count on park view villas being available on short notice (even at 7 months out). book at 10-11 months out to get what you want...

Feb 1st... the first day of your current UY.

this is incorrect. use year has nothing to do with when you can call to book. you can book your home resort at 11 months out. when your UY starts is a non issue.

*use year tells you when your pts are valid for stays
