New Orleans was hit by multible Tornadoes last night!

What is going on?! In all of my 23 years I have never heard of tornadoes touching down south of the lake. Lakeview(one of the worst hit areas of Katrina) had an F-2 tornado hit last night. It destroyed what was left after the wrath of Katrina. Our airport and a few other areas were also hit last night, destroying many homes and FEMA trailers.

I heard about this. It is weird weather but a lot of us have had weird weather this year. I know it's hard but keep the faith.

Goodness. More good thoughts and prayers going out to that area. That has to be so very on top of everything else they have been through this year.

A friend who lives on this side of the lake but works at the airport called this am to tell me about this, how horrid. And it's SO hard to get a FEMA trailer, that now those poeple will have to fight it again. SO sad

I watched WWL tonight at 5pm and it was so sad. They had people from Lakeview on, this one woman was able to save her home from Katrina, until last night. She was crying...it was awful.

I had not heard about this. We do get tornados around here. I feel so sorry for those who are still recovering form Katrina. They don't need anymore hardships right now.

It destroyed some buildings two blocks from myboyfriend's mom's house. So scary. And from what I understand, it happened in the middle of the night while they were sleeping.

Well he has become a big joke. People are selling t-shirt "Willy Nagin and the Chocolate city" lol. I think he offend many, and not just white people. What I think he and many people forget is that it is not just the African American community that makes NO so special. The French, Germans, Italians, Irish, Spanish, Cubans, Honderans(sp?), Pourtugeese(sp?), and quite a few others all settled here. We are truly a melting pot. Had he used the word "gumbo"(a large stew with many ingredients often used to describe us) instead of chocolate no one would have made a fuss. But he didn't, he made it racial. I hope EVERYONE who wants to return home can. I myself have lived here my whole life and can't imagine living anywhere else for long.

He was up for re-election in November 2005, but due to the conditions they have pushed them back a few months...I think March, maybe April. I am not sure b/c it is for Orleans Parish and I live in Jefferson now.
