My family is coming to NO in May. We will be leaving on a cruise on monday. We expect to spend all day sat and sun in NO.
We will be driving from IL.

Here are my questions. I THINK it is about 12-13 hour drive from here.
We were planning on driving down on friday..... So would be three nights in NO....

1. Are there some condos that are fairly reasonable? there will be 7 of us and we will need 4 beds.

If there are no condos avail, we MIGHT spend friday night on the way and drive the rest of the way on Sat am...

Any advise or comments?

Thanks.

Yes, there are condos available, but most of the ones that are that large are going to be Uptown, not in the Quarter. Properties in the Quarter seldom sleep more than 4. You can find them on the usual suspects, such as VRBO and Vamoose.

Be very careful about the issue of parking; not a lot of the condos in New Orleans have provision for that. If you want to park your car overnight on the street in certain parts of the Quarter, you have to have a resident permit, or the vehicle will be towed. There are some uptown areas where this can also be an issue. Also be aware that vehicle breakins are an issue in a lot of residential neighborhoods; if you do get a parking space, leave NOTHING in your car.

So are the properties "UPtown" safe to park at?

Thanks for the info. I had no idea the parking was such an issue.
