New OFFICIAL Universal App

This thread is for the new OFFICIAL Universal Orlando app. Anyone headed to the parks should download the app and let us know how their experience is using the app. I've looked at the app and the maps feature looks pretty good. My complaint is that there are not menus like Disney has when looking at the restaurants. I hope they update that soon. I am unable to look at wait times but I believe you have to be in the parks to see wait times on attractions. They also have something called Guide Me photo navigation which to my understanding cannot be used unless inside the park.

Thanks! That is true. I know its not hard to find the menus on a smartphone. Honestly for myself I'm such an over planner I know exactly where I'm going to eat and what I'm going to order but I think that if they want to design an all inclusive app for the general public they should include the menus. If I was to think about my extended family going (they are the kind of people who book a hotel room and buy tickets and show up when the gates open, not the kind of people who are on this board planning every detail of their trip) it would be very helpful for them to only have to download one app as use it as a map and around 1130 when the kids get hungry, look on the iPhone and see where they and what restaurants are close and what those restaurants offer to eat.

We were there the week of June 16th and I tried the app and decided it was pretty useless. During that week it didn't give me any wait times for rides, they don't have menus listed, etc. Basically other than looking at it to remind me what times the park closed it didn't really give any good info that I was interested in. For someone with AP's that frequents the parks it's not all that helpful, IMO.

Thanks for your reviews. They advertised it and made it sound like it would be fairly good. Clearly a miss for universal.
