*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

My prediction came true!! one of my pups got into the suitcase and chewed on 2 pairs of flip flops:( lucky for him he didnt chew up any clothes!!

18 days. Extended weather forecast sucks. I need to stop stressing over weather. 2/6 is DD 5th birthday celebration. Breathe......

We got our Mickey Mail yesterday! :cool1:

26 days and counting!

I am a little late finding these boards but they are full of great info! I didn't know we would be getting Mickey mail! My kids will love it!

We are going Feb 20-24 staying at the Pop. This is all of our first trip and the planning is a little overwhelming. There is no way I am going to be able to read all of your 150+ pages!

i'm stressing about it too. will be there the same week :(

I wouldnt sweat the small stuff. Many times the weather is predicted incorrectly even one day out!! Relax and enjoy the fact that we will be in the happiest place on Earth very soon!!

Not worried about the weather. No airport closings due to hurricanes in Feb. that's the only thing I would mind. If it is cool and rainy, that's fine. I have raincoat, parks are lovely in the rain, animals in AK will be happy, and parks even less crowded. More joy for us! It was high of about 37 and windy here in usually warm and sunny Austin Texas. I will take whatever weather Florida has to offer in exchange for a vacation and chance to see Philharmagic with hubby!

19 Days until DH and I are leaving for our first child-free vacation in 9 years....and the babysitter canceled. Grrrr. Now what? We need this break so badly. I don't even want to tell him his birthday trip is in jeopardy :(

I'm hopeful that the low is only 53 for the first full week of Feb. that makes packing so much easier is the range is 53-75.

That's awful! :( I hope you can get another one.

I don't like the future weather forecasts, either. But I am optimistic that if we get a cold day, we'll get warm days, too. :)

We'll be leaving from Chicago, so the real worry would be bad weather in Chicago delaying our flight. But it is too far out to predict anything. Even one day forecasts can be wrong.

Every Disney trip we try to do something new. This trip here are our new things:

First time going during Mardi Gras
First time in a 2 bedroom villa
First time dining at 1900 Park Fare
First time doing Agent P's World Showcase Adventure

So I was just curious..... What new things y'all are trying this trip?????

Mrtoad, we've averaged a trip every 6-8 months for the last two years:rolleyes1

We enjoy every one, and we don't regret it. We prefer to do it this way and shave money off the room/tickets/food where we can instead of one big blow out vacation once a year at the Poly or somewhere similar. We don't go out to eat much, save points for movie passes, and do a lot of fun low cost things around home so that we can spend our mad money on vacations. It's just what we love. So, I don't think anyone will think you're crazy here.:)
Now.. I do come home from every trip saying it will be the last one for a long time. It never is:blush:

Well I finally switched my room only ressie over to a package (Free Dining pin code) this morning. I had to change the dates a little too. I tried and tried to book it on the website but gave up after an hour of trying different things.
So I called and got through right away. I was so happy not to be on hold forever. Then the cast member I was working with could not get the pin codes to work and it became a 48 minute call to book a package:rolleyes1

In the end though she booked us in a standard view Royal Room at Port Orleans which was great because it saved me 190 or so off the Garden View I was trying to book online. I couldn't see a standard so it's nice she found one for me.

I am all booked, all paid, online check in is finished AND all my dining reservations are made.

Now.. I wait. 39 days to go:rolleyes1

You just know I am going to have to play with my Dining a little bit lol.

Aahh. The elusive PIN code!! I wish I had one, although we are pass holders and did a deal on a room-only package. Wish we had a code!

We leave for a night at the airport two weeks from today! I consider that the start of the v-k although we won't be at WDW until the next day. :yay:

This trip, the new things we're trying:

1. Staying in a Royal Room
2. Going in Feb.
3. Ohana for dinner
4. Wonderland Tea Party
5. And of course, the New Fantasyland!

We always try to do new things too!

So far..
New restaurants to us.. Be Our Guest, Raglan Road, and 1900 Park Fare
First time in a Royal Room at POR
Trying all new restaurants at Universal
Going to the Mardis Gras parade and concert at Universal
New Test Track!!!!!
New Fantasyland!!!
New Counter Service location in France at Epcot
and
Will try the food court at POFQ

So many new things!! Our other stay at POR was in the Alligator Bayou section so staying in the mansions this time almost feels like a new resort. And the Royal Room is a surprise too. My 15 year old dd wanted one and I told her I'd rather not spend the extra money for a Royal room so she will love it.:)

ETA) My birthday is at the end of the month and I am thinking of asking for Blue Man tickets but they are expensive and I don't know if they are worth it. I might ask for tickets to one of the Disney tours instead. Both those of those things would be new.

New things for us:

Wilderness Lodge
Dining plan
Hoop Dee Doo
'Ohana dinner
Donald's Safari Breakfast
1900 Park Fare Cinderella dinner
Coral Reef dinner

And being with our two grandchildren who will be there for their first Disney trip. :yay:
Lots of firsts for someone who has been there at least 20 times. ;)

Well we had a school cancellation due to snow today, so I think it ignited my NEED for Florida and it also squashed my worrying about the weather during our trip. Because guess what...

IT WON'T BE SNOWING!! And that's good enough for me ;-)
