Back from our holiday and noticed that there is a new offer out (thank you Ms Poppins :)). I don't normally look at other offers once we have booked as we are famously rubbish at getting good deals at DLRP!

But.... I sneeked a look and our hotel in November is now £202 cheaper (2 rooms)!! The thing is, we have booked to go to the DLH again (must need my head read, but Mum was very keen to stay there again and talked me round with the location in the cold etc).

So, is there anything I can try to change our booking? The thing is we don't fancy Auberge again, the tea party doesn't look like it will be running (no CBCO at all?). The only meal that you can prebook that we might have done is dinner in Cafe Mickey and that's not going to help that much on the price.

I'm loathe to get HB vouchers as we'd have money to pay and tbh I am a shareholder and have an AP so I get discount on the meals!?

I guess, we'll have to swallow it unless anyone on here has any good ideas to try?

Lesson learned for me, don't check out new offers once booked :rotfl:!

TIA :thumbsup2

Thank you for your reply Carrie - I just skimmed Serenlas' post as I am just catching up on the board after being on holiday and thought she had upgraded the hotel but she didn't!

Actually, for the first time ever we only paid the deposit for this trip, the balance has to be paid in 2 weeks or so, so I'm hoping that might work in our favour as we have no refund as such to pay back to us, just an amended balance if they allow us the new offer. I will call tomorrow.

I really can't see that adding meals would help us so I guess I'll just have to ask about the offer and play 'dumb'....??

At the end of the day, I'll try and once and if it doesn't work then so be it! We were happy enough to book on the previous offer, so we'll have to live with it :goodvibes.

It's worth a try. I phoned them when an offer came out and ended up saving nearly £200. I added BBWWS tickets to my package as was going to be doing that anyway and as I hadn't paid the full balance yet, they just re-sent the confirmation with the new total I had to pay.

Could you try phoning them first to see if they will simply 'upgrade your booking' to include the new offer and if they say no, ask about added tickets?

I did this today too after reading Serenlas' post. I spoke to a lovely man named Hugo who gave me my exact same trip for £140 cheaper. He was willing to give me a refund but I added the half board plus option on - I paid in full on Friday and to be honest it'll save me having to budget too much more for meals. Feels like I got the meals for nothing as I'd already budgeted the full amount iykwim. I sat for a while though trying to justify paying the teeny (£140) extra to stay in the pink palace though. I'd almost did it but thankfully common sense has prevailed. I'll just have to aim for that next time..... :thumbsup2

Definitely give the French number a call, I just said that I had already booked but had seen the price was now cheaper and Hugo literally did the rest! I didn't have to beg or wheedle anything! :lmao: Amazeballs!

He was also a whole lot more helpful than the cm's I've dealt with on the main number - who said the French were rude?! :thumbsup2

Good luck, hope it works out for you!

Thank you all sooo much for your help!

I called this am and have been able to change offer so have saved over £250! I rang the French line and spoke to a lovely CM called Fabio who said "you are quite within your right to change as you have more than 60 days to go and still have the balance to pay, it becomes more difficult when a refund has to be processed, but it doesn't in your case" :thumbsup2.

I am delighted as felt in my heart that the previous offer was wasted on us as we hadn't been able to take advantage of the 2 nights free, only 1 night!

Really happy with the price now so shan't be looking again ;)!

Yippeee! £250 is a huge amount of spending money to have saved :cool1:.

This board is great for helping each other out - don't know what I would do without it :goodvibes.

Wow, we're definitely on a roll here :rotfl:

My original price for our Christmas booking is still coming in £7 pounds cheaper than the new offer. Fantastic to see so many people making a saving though, and DLP being so accommodating :thumbsup2

100% on a roll. We just spoke to a lovely lady who happily changed our booking and made the addition of a birthday cake for DH :cool1:

I too am pleased others have managed too. I wonder if it's because it is not a 'flash sale' like someone else said? Who knows - seems to depend who you speak to like most other things involving CMs though! :lmao:

I am just so grateful that people post about this sort of stuff on here - I never would have thought about calling if I hadn't read it on here .

Yay!! I'm so pleased to read this :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: I've not been around lately due to poorly dogs but it's so cheering to read posts like this. :lmao:
