New October Thread

I'm at DLR almost every other weekend..I went last weekend and I'm going again either tomorrow, Saturday, or both

Hi Hi Everyone!

I hope those at the Park are having a great time! And those who are getting ready to go, have safe travel! And for those who have just gotten home, i hope that you made wonderful memories:grouphug:

We got back late last night and had an amazing time! I am walking around the house singing the music from the fireworks, F!, and HMH. :rolleyes1 As tired as I was when when got home I was ready to clean the house, do laundry, pick up my kids from Grandma's and pack and go back next week. :goodvibes I hope everyone that is going soon has as much fun as we did. I LOVED SMGG and HMH. Be sure to pick up your fastpass for SMGG as soon as you can, they sold out every day while we were there.

We got back yesterday; left the sunny 80s behind and returned to snow and temps in the 30s.

Crowd levels were much lower than we expected. Didn't enjoy SMGG as much as we expected. Loved Hojo's! The weather was outstanding! Roz sang Happy Birthday to DS13 on the Monsters Inc. ride. Decorations were great.

I'd be happy to answer any questions as long as they aren't about the ToT party, since we weren't there for it.

Seems customs really likes my lime green Mickey head. The letter my friend sent is overdue for three weeks now. :headache:

I only have one more day of mail left, that means I'll probably be without any "Disboard ID."

So I figured I'd try the standard route and post a picture.

If anyone sees me, please say hi. :goodvibes

Just back from our first DVC trip the 16-21. Crowds over the weekend were terrible! So didnt do to many rides, until Monday Tues when there were fewer people.

Did F! dessert thing - they were really great seats and yummy food. Didnt like the idea of having to wait at 6:30 for 8 pm seat assignments that was no fun, so might not do that again next time, not worth the $$.

Love the Mickey Halloween party - went straight back to the toy story ride - it was the only time we were able to ride it during the trip - long lines.

Our daughter LOVED Ariels Grotto - would recommend that for a princess fix and food was pretty good.
Didnt like the food at Minnies Character breakfast but characters were great.
Folks at the parks said food was great at PPH and Story Teller so when we go back next May well try that..
Got take out from Torilla Joes - make sure you share the burrito!

Lost our 3 year old daughter for about 5 HORRIBLE min. she chased after goofy and then came back. We were right by Guest Relations and when I went in there to ask for help they just kinda looked at me like "what do you want us to do?" so that was a little frustrating. Next time we get a child locator..especially since crowds are so much bigger.

Fireworks were amazing and on Youtube there is a great Extreme HD version you can download to enjoy - so fun fun fun fun

Ok that is my very mini trip report, had a great time cant wait for June

We are start our drive tomorrow, will Build-a-Bear and watch the fireworks from our condo roof on Sunday, and be at the parks on Monday!
:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Hey all! We had a great time on our trip from the 12th - 16th despite both me and my DW getting sick while we were there. The ToT party on the 15th was a blast. HM was very cool and SMGG was cool enough - worth one ride for me anyways.

Crowd levels were pretty good M - Th, but Friday was crazy. I'm posting some pics on the October group TR and more pics and our story on my TR.

For those who have been already I'm glad you had fun and for those who are there or are leaving soon, have lots of fun!!!! :cool1:

*waves goodbye*

I'm off to my room mate's place in a little more than 2 hours, her parents are taking us to the airport tomorrow.

Goofy's Kitchen here I come. :rotfl:

Have a great time! Were you able to figure out transportation with your hurt leg?

Hi Hi Everybody!

I hope your trips are turning out happy!

We just got home last night and i'm the tired one.

It felt like the parks were not as crowded as last year.

JoRo.. i liked your mini review..

We learned a few things too... one... for me disneyland is about the people i get to spend time with there.

I know that I won't ever book the Grand Californian Concerige again. We've done it twice within the last 6 weeks and it's just not for us.

I won't ever go to the park again with the Train down.. we missed it, and with my older mother, it is useful for breaks and getting around the park.

I can highly recommend Barbara at Vacation Planning. Everything we planned for daily surprises for my mom came out wonderfully. She is a very sweet Lady.

Also... The Costco annual passes with their 50 gift card were the BoMb BaBeY! We cashed in 3 of those along with my mom's birthday card and my husbands birthday card and bought her a really pretty ring at the jewelry store on mainstreet. It's the gold coin mickey ring.

I learned you can make some really good friends on Disboards that evolve away from online to true friendships.

May the rest of the travelers within this thread have very special trips with happy happy memories!

Ooooohh i met disneyfan4ever54!

It was so funny.. i was going to peek in to Billy Hill's to see if any of the girls were there early so i could tell them my mom felt bad and we needed to go back to the hotel.

I see this lady in front of me and on her backpack is a lime green mickey head.. then i think..hhhhhhmmm.. i know that name!:rotfl: So i tapped her on the shoulder and go.... hi hi.. i'm fairykin! she said... i know you, you boo'd me!:rotfl2:

so we laughed and hugged and i got to meet her son who was very nice.. and she said hi to my mom who wasn't feeling good so we left.

But not before i took her over and introduced her to some of the Disboard Diva's.:goodvibes

It was great to meet her..she's very nice.
I wish I could have stayed longer..yet there comes a time when sometimes you are the parent to your parent.:littleangel:

Oh, yikes! That is really scary. I'm so glad you found her quickly. I thought when CMs were told about a lost/missing child, they sent out an immediate alert. Maybe that would just get overwhelming during the park during the day with the number of children who disappear momentarily? I read a thread about making a tag (like the kind you can get for a dog collar :lmao:) with the parent's cell phone number on it. I'm going to get one of those for both of our DDs and attach them to their shoelaces on their tennies.

Absolutely terrifying to even think of losing a child at disneyland, let alone a 3 year old! How scary that must have been for you.

Well we leave tomorrow in the morning. A short one and half to two hour drive (depending on the traffic. Today there was a nasty semi-truck accident that was right our pathway-glad I didn't leave today) I was going to leave at 9am, but the family including my DH wants to go at 6am. I will probably run into lots of folks from Ventura. The school district took this week off. My DD(12)'s BFF is there now and we plan to meet up sometime in the afternoon.
We have Mickey's ToTP tomorrow night. We are DVC members and have a one bedroom booked, so we will eat a fast taco dinner in our room and them off to the ToTP.
Will do early entry on Thursday morning. Thursday night I have my sister and my niece coming for dinner. We will BBQ london broil on the grill. I have always dreamed of inviting my sister's family over for dinner when the VGC opened. Can't wait.
A quick jump into the DL on Friday morning, have lunch at Storyteller's and then home so we can take care of our horses early Friday evening. Whew lots to do and lots of fun coming our way.

I hope to bring the computer and camera to post pics. Hoipefully my next post will have some pictures.

Hey fairykin, glad you had a good time! Looking forward to seeing some pics and such :thumbsup2

No, never want to lose a child, but if there is a place to do it, a Disney park is it. I've heard numerous stories of how parkgoers and CMs have worked to keep the child calm and reunite the family as fast as possible :goodvibes

Hey funatdisney ...may you be living your namesake right now and having a great time! :yay: :yay: :yay:

OK just finished my first day if our trip. We had lots of fun hanging out with my DD's BFF's family. We had our taco dinner and headed to Mickey's ToTP. Had a great time except for the drunk on TSM. It was near the end of the night when I saw a jerk smoking in line. I told him to that there are areas for smoking and to put out the cig. He was in my face saying that I was mistaken and that he was not smoking. Never mind the smoke smell and the alcohol smell. He had drooped the cig on the ground. I told him to just go meet up with his party. My DH was always near by and is a black belt in Aikido. He just calmly went up to him and said if had any thing else to say. He said nothing and went to his group in line which was only two parties ahead of us. I would have left it at that, but he would leave the line, smoke and come back into the line. On the way back, he would run over small kids and push into people. My DH went up to him and asked him if he was too drunk to be at DCA. He said, no. DH said Well you just run over these small kids. At that point, I told DH to stay in line and keep an eye on him, while I went to get security. I went to the CM at the front of TSM and asked her to call security for the belligerent drunk in line. She called and three Security guards came and pulled him out of line. These types of incidents rarely happen, but when they do, I just feel that something must be done.
Anyway, enough of that. Interesting enough, I noticed that the Lagoon was partly filled up with water. When I went to investigate, I noticed that the lagoon is in the process of filling up with water. My DH took a few pictures and these are the best ones:

Nice reflection of the Mickey Ferris wheel my DH took.
Here is the other one:

On the side of the Ferris wheel closest to the Midway is where the water is entering the lagoon. I can't wait to see it tomorrow and see how far the Lagoon is filled.
Until tomorrow, good night.

Well today was nice and easy. I have not been albe to check out the DCA's Lagoon. I am expecting my company for dinner soon. Plan on going to the BBQ here at the Grand Californian. I was able to check out some BBQ tools.

Everyone have a good night.
