New Newfie pictures ... as promised!

Oh. My. GOD!!

She's an Irish Spotted??? Adorable!!!:love: And love the name-that's my girls name too!

Get a plastic boot tray for under her water-she'll still spill, but it won't travel all over. Trust me, one slip on a floor from Newfie-flung water and it won't be pretty.

I may need the name of her breeder-my next one is going to be an IS!

OMG, she's GORGEOUS! we had a great pyrenees puppy wander up to our house last summer-it belonged to a neighbor, and he came and got it about an hour later, but oh, i had SO much fun petting and playing with that puppy! he was just a little, white fluffball! when i found out he would grow up to be well over 100 lbs, though, i was glad he was gone, lol.

She is so gorgeous!!

I didn't even realize Newfs came in "Irish spotted" color. She is so precious in that picture where she is all wet.

I can't wait until we take ours home in about 4 weeks.

How did she take the ride home? I am a little nervous about that. We are a little over an hour away from our breeder.

She is adorable! Please post more pics... I love newfies. I just can't have a dog since I'm working full-time and I would want to be a stay-at-home mommy for a puppy.:cool1:

DH wants a Bernese Mountain Dog - badly!!!!! Every time we see one, I just look at their paws and tell him no!!!!

At least it's a No, until the kids are outta the house and with DS being 15 and DD being 13 it's gonna be awhile. Once the kids are gone, the dog can have a room of it's own. That is one dog that will not be up on the bed or couch.

We love our Bernese! He is huge but such a great family dog. He is hysterical with our 3 year old. The boys just lay all over him and use him as a pillow.
MY DH is still trying to persuade me into getting a Newfie. Two 120lbs+ dogs is so not going to happen! LOL but the Newfies are amazing dogs. Congrats!

Love, love, love the pix!:cool1::cool1:

Now we expect weekly updates:thumbsup2

Maggie is too cute for words!!!!

Our flew home and she did fine! Just make sure you take a blanket to rub all over Mom so she has something that smells like home, and take some towels in case she tosses her cookies!

I am so jealous of you guys and your puppies. I want another one!

Why on Earth did I open this thread? :sad2:

I must NOT look at puppy pictures! I must NOT!

Oh she's beautiful!! I had that "look"...my husbnad didn't even have to ask, he said "no more we already have 4 Newfs!".

Do you mind if I ask who the breeder is? She's lovely and Maggie is a great name. Enjoy her as she will grow so fast!

Yep - we do the boot tray too! It just amazes me how much this cuts down on "doggy mess"

Oh my goodness, I actually let out a little squeal looking at the pictures. What a doll she is!:lovestruc

She cried on and off on the ride home but she was ok. I had a blanket that I rubbed all over the mom but I don't know that she cared honestly. She did pee on it the first night in her crate so, so much for that!!

She is doing well ... a few accidents here and there! It's amazing how hard they play for like 10 minutes and then sleep for 2 hours!!

As far as our breeder ... honestly it was just a friend of a friend. She has a newf and breeded with another newf. Her girl is 4 and has had two litters and she is done. She had one chocolate one in the litter ... she was adorable!! She did have all the health clearances on both dogs so even though she was a "real" breeder I did feel comfortable with her.

I swear she has grown already ... I'll post more pics soon. I am going to get a rubber boot mat. Right now I took up the water jug and am monitoring her water intack for house training though ....

She is GORGEOUS!!

And she probably has grown. Start keeping track of her weight-mine gained an average of 10-12 pounds a month and her height growth was incredible! It's fun to look back because you honestly won't remember how small she was in about 6 months.

And you simply MUST post her pictures over on NN!

Four!? They are like potato chips aren't they?? I've come to realize people have at least 2 just so they'll have someone to play with! And really, would he notice one more??

What a beautiful dog! Enjoy that cutie!

All my vet ever owns is Newfie's. He's got 2 now! His children are grown and all he talks about are his grandchildren and his newfies.

Before the kiddo's we had a Keeshound and a Chow/Husky mix for me to baby. DH thought it was hysterical that on the day we brought them home, then every month for the 1st year, I took a picture of them next to our vertical VSH stand. It was the best thing to use to show their growth.

DMickey28,

also remember that just because the breed "standard" is they are laid back, doesn't mean she will be!! There are some high energy Newf's out there too- more than you think! Even a mild energy Newf will seem more energetic simply because they are bigger. They also need to learn that they have to be gentle. Mine will lay down so little dogs can check her out, but only after she's scared them to death! They really don't realize how big they are-I've been jerked off my feet AND dragged about 10 feet before she even realized she was doing it, and she's only 100lbs.

They are STRONG. One of, if not the, strongest dog breeds around. They were bred to pull carts I think of around 200lbs, and help fishermen in the water. They can pull a boat. They don't realize jumping on a child is bad.

With a 3 year old and a 3 month old, you'll have to extra vigilante that she's well behaved and trained.
