New Nemo ride- TOTALLY LAME!

I rode Nemo and friends last week. It is totally weak!

You ride through several very minimally decorated scenes with characters saying "Where's Nemo?"

The "bubble tube" effect is just exactly like the end of the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. It makes you disoriented with flashing strobe lights.

The ride broke down several times while we were riding leaving us in the buble tube for about 3 minutes.

The only good part of the ride is the cartoons projected in the aquarium. It would have been better if the whole ride was projected in the aquarium. There are dark parts with the bad guy shark that could be scary for little kids.

All in all, a huge waste of time and money. This ride joins Stitch as a ride I will never have to go on again. My 9 and 11 year old children thought it was weak also, so it must be bad!

Were you expecting Expedition:Everest?

It's certainly better than what was there before - nothing. :)

It's just meant to be a cute little ride, like Snow White or Pooh over at MK. Sorry it didn't meet your expectations.

ummm....yes! why would I expect less? buzz lightyear is great, this could have been too.

Methinks NED is a disney apologist!

I'm sorry you didn't like it but I'm going to think positive and give it a try anyway.

I thought it was cute.
Here is the blue background at the end of the ride, as usual I didn't find Nemo because I couldn't focus my camera.

I actually rode the ride yesterday w/ my 3yr old son. He loved it! I think it is great the way the Living Seas have been redone w/ the Nemo Ride, Turtle Talk, Bruce Shark Play area etc.....it gives the little ones something more to enjoy at EPCOT. One are of the Seas was closed off, the area where the clown fish (Nemo) and Dory were in tanks previously. Does anyone know if this is being remolded also?

Sounds like it's still better than the Monsters Inc ride at DL...... (Which, yes, is also just supposed to be a cute ride and is good on that level. I'm just still bitter over seeing the lines get ridiculously long 2 days in a row, so we got to it early one day, still stood in line forever, and wound up with a cute ride. That'll teach me not to ask. LOL)

We'll try the Nemo ride when we go next. Gotta try everything at least once, right? And a few minutes off my feet is never *totally* unwelcome. :)

Actually it sounds like Nemo might be another Disney trend of promoting something new when it is just another economical recycled ride.

Living Seas housed a closed ride for a long time and now they have revived it with a Nemo theme. Another recent recycle is Alien Encounter recycled to be Stitch's Great Escape in Tomorrowland. I just think some Disney fans actually want something new and fresh just like home owners would rather have new kitchen cabinets over resurfaced old cabinets.

And, see, that's the thing. Everyone has vastly different opinions. I absolutely HATE the Buzz ride - although I love that character. To me, it's nothing but some painted cardboard cut-outs and blacklights. BORING!

I haven't riden Nemo yet, but it sounds kind of neat.

Thank you for mentioning the strobe lights. I now know that I cannot do Nemo & Friends. I wish Disney would realize that strobes affect quite a lot of medical conditions. Thanks again.

AS are the majority of all the rides in Fantasy land.

So you want to shoot at Nemo? :sad2:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Very funny!! The seagulls were kind of annoying though - maybe we could shoot them! ;)

I'm starting to think I have a bad taste in rides because all I'm hearing is how people disliked this ride. I REALLY liked it. :wizard:

Exactly. I bet the budget for this "all new" attraction was pretty small

We are looking forward to trying out the ride next week. There will always be people who will go to Disney and look at everything as though they are critics, and then there are those of us who go to Disney to see everything as through the eyes of children. If you go to Disney with an open mind, then the experience will truly be magical and worth every penny. I can't wait for my two year old to ride it. She loves Nemo! :wizard:
