New NB/Disney Shoes

Speaking of shoes (didn't want to start a new thread) I've a got an old pair of NB minimus "zero" shoes with about 320-330miles that I love and have been training with for the last few months. Well, a few weeks ago I bought some new minimus "trail" shoes by mistake (as I thought they were the similar zeros). At first they felt great, especially in the store, but after 30 or so miles they are giving me blisters near the balls of my feet. With race day less than 2 weeks away I'm thinking of switching back to the worn zero's even with the high mileage. The soles are definitely worn, but the material is still holding up well. Does this sound like a good idea? What is everyone's typical race day shoe mileage?

Does anyone know when they will be officially unveiled?

Aren't these it?

They are, but I'm fairly certain that leak wasn't intended to be the "official" unveiling. ;)

FINALLY!

Still don't know the difference between the 860 and the 890.

The 860 is a stability shoe for runners who overpronate. The 890 is a lightweight neutral performance shoe for runners with normal foot pronation.

On another note....I see they are doing reservations to actually make a purchase at the NB booth. You arrive, go to the booth, get a registration time, and they text you to confirm and remind you. Is that a new thing they are doing to try and control the chaos?

Posted on 'how to buy' at the expo.. Should help those wanting to get the shoes

THING TO KNOW (BEFORE YOU GO)

Prices range from $72 to $125 depending on the model and design of the shoe, and all Guests attending the Expo may purchase up to four shoe liners, four adult shoes and two kid shoes. Unfortunately, when making your reservation time, you cannot reserve a specific model, design or size of shoe, and while shoes are available on a first-come, first-served basis, New Balance has taken steps to have enough shoes on hand to meet the demand.

If you can't send someone down on your behalf then probably ebay.

i looked on ebay and they are already going for $500! will anyone be willing to purchase a minnie mouse pair for me?!?!? of course i would pay for shoes and time!

Can anyone advise about the fit of the 860s and the 890s? I have a friend picking up a pair for me so I can't try them on. I'm not familiar with the fit of NB. I wear Skechers and love the comfort. I wear a size 9.5 in Go Walks and a size 10 in the Go Run 2. Does anyone have ideas on which size to get? I've heard they might run a little small? If you were me would you "size up"? :confused3

Sinderelly, I would advise going to a local shoe store, try on NB shoes and see what size you wear. that's the quickest way and most accurate way. Can't wait to see them tomorrow. can't believe folks are already scalping on ebay!

do like the ressie system they are implementing. hope it goes smoother.:thumbsup2

Thank you! I'm out of time for a trip to a shoe store though. I had read somewhere that the NB Run Disney shoes ran about a size small? I was hoping someone who had a pair could tell me if they had to size up.

Ugh Ebay scalpers :crazy2:

890s are true to size.
They're my "walking around" shoe (too much drop for my tastes as a running shoe). I wear the same size on the GoRun2, which fits a little sloppier but not by much
