New Nat'l Contract Id That Beat Priceless

Hey Mary, great to see you. Keep up the great work on your site, always appreciated.

And I do think the Priceless is a code, not a coupon.

Try the Walmart code 5125601 with the Entertainment coupon 10009123. My price for a week (Full size 2/4 door with pick up in Orlando, drop off in Tampa) is only $137.41. It's an awesome rate!

I'm a LONG-time FlyerTalk participant and agree that it is a wonderful site with lots of great information. I am also well aware of the many rental car codes available on that site.

I just want to clarify why I don't put all of the codes from FlyerTalk (and other boards) on MouseSavers.com. Rental car codes are posted to public boards by a variety of folks who may or may not know the source of those codes and the restrictions on them. Some of the posters are pretty accurate and ethical. Some are not. The codes they list are not always reliable.

For instance, I know for certain that some of the codes found on FlyerTalk are travel agent codes that technically require a valid IATA (travel agent association) card. Now, the truth is that National and some of the other rental car companies are not consistent about enforcement. You may get away with using such a code... or you may get a stickler at check-in and experience a gigantic hassle when you are asked for travel agent ID.

I am extremely careful to "vet" any codes I list on my site for accuracy, and I work hard to make sure I'm listing only codes that are intended for the general public. Before I list a code on my site, I almost always know the original source of it, and what restrictions (if any) apply. I also will not knowingly list codes that are supposed to be used only by travel agents, members of private organizations, etc. I'm certainly not infallible, but I do a huge amount of "due diligence" in researching the codes I put on my site.

In short, my goal is not for the MouseSavers lists to be "exhaustive," but rather to be accurate and dependable. If you choose to use the random rental codes you find posted on various boards, I sincerely wish you well in doing so. But don't complain if you run into a problem when you pick up the car!

Mary, I LOVE YA :lovestruc so please don't take this as a flame but your post has drummed up a question in my head about the Priceless code. (It's so hard to type words that accurately reflect the tone of the voice...) Is that a code that is intended for the general public or was its original intent just for customers of Priceless Vacations? If the answer is the latter, the rhetorical question is "are we all being "ethical" in using it?" when we have no idea who Priceless is? Has the ease in using a code led us to its acceptance as being morally OK to use?

Which leads me to another thought, are we all being ethical when we sign up for the Emerald Club with the special link that looks like it was set up for certain customers? Who eats that $50 lost revenue? National or the company that posted the link?

I VERY much appreciate Mary's hard work in posting discounts and have saved a lot of moolah thanks to her dedication. By posting this original note, I just wanted to pass along something that potentially could save someone some money. This is all just food for thought and everyone, of course, will come to their own decision about whether they feel honest and confident using certain codes and discounts.

Where did you get the Priceless coupon? I did sign up for the code through the free link at Mousesavers, but never got a coupon.

Does anyone else have a coupon for them? I do have the Entertainment coupons printed.

Thanks!

Kim, where did you get the Priceless coupon? I registered with them but never saw anything to print out. ??

I got it from a link in Rentalcodes.com, but it's not there anymore. Yes, it is a code, but when I clicked on the number from this site, it redirected me to the National Website with the coupon that does say "Priceless Vacations" on it. I do give it to the person at the window when I'm leaving, I don't know if they need it or not; I just give it to them since I have it. I've used it many times in the past. It's just not there anymore. I'm sorry. It's a good site to review every now and then for different codes/coupons for the various car rentals.

Priceless is not a coupon, it is a code...the code is 6600330. Put it in the contract ID space, and then put your entertainment coupon ID in that space, you will see significant savings..(usually). You do not need to show anything tat the desk to use the priceless code...at least I never had, and Mary @ mousesavers.com has never reported anyone having to show anything. Enjoy your trip!!!

Mary...Thanks so much for your wonderful website ans all of your hard work on it, and thank you for saving me soooo much money... :disrocks: ....but so does mousesavers!!!!

fourfoxes,
I am not meaning to speak for Mary, but both of these offers were available to the general public on the respective companies websites with no membership or affiliation required. The free EA membership link is still on the Turner Travel site. The contract ID link is gone from the Priceless, now Carefree, web site, but it was posted there at one time.

I realize that these great deals were posted on the travel agency websites but that necessarily doesn't mean they were intended for everyone to use. It could just mean that the websites have a lack of security that allows anyone to access and view it.

But, don't get me wrong...if the Priceless code is the best deal out there, I will use it! :goodvibes

I think you raise very valid questions, and I agree that there can be some grey areas as far as the ethics of using some codes and discounts. In these two specific examples, the Priceless code and the Turner Travel Emerald Club sign-up both came from public sites that didn't require any sign-up, registration, password or anything like that. No restrictions were listed on either offer. From that I infer that the offer is not restricted to a particular group.

By the way, both offers have been on my site for an extended period (in the case of the Turner Travel offer, for several years!) and I've never heard a peep from the "sponsors" of either offer. I feel confident that they are well aware that the offers are listed on my site, so presumably they don't care, or possibly even see it as free publicity.

Regarding the waived Emerald Club fee, I don't think there is $50 in lost revenue to anyone. Sure, National is glad to collect 50 bucks from anyone willing to pay it, but in reality they will waive the Emerald Club fee for almost anyone who asks. Most of the other rental car "frequent renter" programs are the same way. It's actually a benefit for the rental car company to have your information on file, because it gives them information to use in marketing and it keeps their labor costs down by allowing quicker rental transactions.

We all have to make our own decisions when it comes to the ethics of using discounts. I can only do what my conscience dictates, and hope I'm being fair and right. I'm certainly not saying I'm perfect -- just that I'm trying!

I'm going next week and if it lowered my rate I would have tried it and given you a report but unfortunately it would raise my Priceless rate by $12. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I wonder about the entertainment book coupon. Out of the last 10 times using it, I've only been asked for my card once..but it was enough to make sure I always have it. Is that supposed to be given out..or are you suppose to have an entertainment book or membership? What happens to those who use it, if they are asked for a card?

I haven't been asked for a card, but I have always had the coupon for fear of being turned away or being charged more. I one time had the coupon and forgot it, and they would not let me use it.... :sunny:

Thanks for the code. I just used it in conjunction with the entertainment code and saved $36 on my reservation for April 16-25.

Update...

We booked using the Entertainment Book coupon , which they took from me and using the Continental Cool code (no proof requested, but I did have a FF card just in case). Our rate was $114 from Sat May 28th through Sun Jun 5th for an intermediate car. We had no problems!

Way back when, I did research when I initially saw the Priceless code on MouseSavers. I signed up at Priceless Vacations, I know 'who' they are & receive occasional e-mail offers from them. I'm happy, they're happy & I thereby qualify for any possible savings from their code.

I never use a code, regardless of its apparent origins, without checking *if* I qualify for its valid use.

agnes!

It made MY rate jump bu $90 for Late Sept/Early oct! So, you never know. I got lowest eate with AMEX code 5125601 plus Ent book coupon.
