There's a new National Car Rental coupon good from now thru 9/20. It's $40 off a weekly rental. Code ND1881JDK. I used it for our rental at the Dolphin along with the Sam's club ID. Still a lot higher than previous years, but the lowest I've been able to find. Brings a midsize to around $200 for the week.

Where is the coupon from? I don't see it on the national site so I want to print it out to bring with me.

:thumbsup2 Take notice on the MIDSIZE car CAT. at National, the car has went smaller in size . Less trunk room & less body room.:mad::mad:

~Sigh~ why aren't they offering anything for October?? I have an 8 day National rental booked for $168.00 but was really hoping to reduce that a bit more.

I know the rental environment has changed drastically but it's still killing me to know that I only paid $76 last year for the same 8 day rental.

what are your dates and what contract id did you use for your "good" rental in october?

I used the Costco ID 5025938 and coupon code ND2182HLD (anyone can print off the various rental car coupons at the Costco website). I found it was MUCH cheaper to pick up at the Dolphin and return to MCO so we will use DME to get to WDW and then pick up the car.

Our dates are October 3-11 and I made the reservation on May 18, which I am sure glad that I did as I can't find much of anything under $300 right now!

thanks for the reply....

picking up at dolphin takes the customer facility charge of 12.50 off for sure

rates just not what they used to be, you really have to try a whole lot of contract ids and coupon ids to get the best "bang for the buick"

FYI: Alamo has dropped their October rates in case anyone wants to compare. Even though Alamo and National are the same entity, they seem to have very different pricing. I have a ressie booked with both...waiting to see who ends up the cheapest.

Some National coupons require you to present a physical coupon, others do not. Any experience with whether it is required for this one? (It seems to be based in part on where the offer comes from . . . .)

I have been an Emerald Club member for ages, even though it has been a long time since I have gotten anything in the mail - coupons or anything else. So it won't feel like cheating if I use a coupon code even though I didn't actually get the email in which it came. (But if I'll need a printed coupon, that's a different story.)
