Thank you all for posting this thread & alerting me to the new code!!!!!! I just called and was able to apply it to my existing reservation and I'm saving a whopping $640 nights on a 8 night stay at the Wilderness Lodge! And so for the first time ever, I will use the ! I've always wanted to use that!

To momof2dizkids, CALL BACK and get another agent who knows what they are doing! You can apply it to an existing reservation & you can apply it to the same hotel you orginally booked at. We changed nothing on our reservation- we were orginally booked at the WL for 8 nights & we are still booked at the WL for 8 nights...only for $640 cheaper now!

Yes call bjscheel, and remember you can always break your ressie into two or even more reservations if that helps. I'm calling now, because I want to know the exact details of this discount. I'm happy I got one, don't get me wrong. Just want to know why I didn't save almost 400 like NC State . The only thing I can think of is that we are arriving later in the month, but who knows?

I just called. We are staying at French quarter. Had a wonderful agent, the rate shows nothing for the following hotels for that week:

POFQ
Contemporary
Wilderness Lodge
Animal kingdom lodge (only avail. in savannahs and the rate goes from what i have now at POFQ up over $2,000 for the two rooms)
Old Key West Resort
Boardwalk

That was as far as i checked. hope this helps a bit.

Okay, I just called Disney again, got a CM who actually asked for the code, (Yea!), but, no luck.... At least not at ASMo, they do have availability at ASMu and AS sports. I asked "Are you sure - I was told that you could apply it to an existing reservation" - "Sorry, nothing at your resort". Well, I really don't want to change resorts. I then asked if they thought anything would come available in the near future - and was told that they had no idea. It's a little frustrating right now, if I can take advantage of the discount - I would love it. But, as of now, it is not meant to be.

I think you can only apply the discount if the they have discounts available for the same time frame/location.

I was not able to get POP for 11/23-12/03, but I can get ASSp standard room.

I can get POP though from 12/24-12/03, but it has to be a preferred room.

Details, I need details please . vsimeone how did you do it?! We are still at the Pop and saved 204 over 10 days, did Disney mention anything about a prefered room? How long are you going for?

The CM I talked to, Rainbow (how could I forget THAT name) said that nothing was coming up available at POP but she could save me money if I switched to CSR. I said "huh?????" so she said that she can book me at a moderate at CSR for blah, blah, blah and that was about a $220 savings for our 9 night trip. BTW... our FIRST night is 12/23 but it is applied to the whole stay. I asked her to check about CBR which we have stayed at before but she said there were only king beds available so that we would be required to book 2 rooms for the 4 of us.

I thought I would be stupid not to upgrade for a CHEAPER rate even though we have never stayed at CSR. Now I'm excited to try somewhere new!!!

I will call back again to check POP though because for this trip, I'm more worried about saving the money than the level of the resort - that's not ALWAYS the case but we have stayed at all levels and with the kids - value works out just fine for us!

Has anyone got a discount at the Poly? I called today and a wonderful CM tried to get me the Disney Visa rate, the general public rate, and an AP rate for my stay 11/30-12/10. She said she tried to break the reservation up and there still wasn't anything available. She also tried the other monorail resorts with no luck.

Your Welcome vsimeone, just glad you were able to get a discount too ! Cool that you got the CSR, I remember a while back someone did a site because they loved that resort so much and it did look really nice! They might have a link to it if you check the CSR faqs thread over in the Resorts forum. Honest I love the Pop to bits but I wouldn't mind staying at a mod for a few nights if the Pop Warner kids prove to be a bit much. Time will tell!

I know what you mean about needing to save money this trip because since last year we had AP's for both Disney and Universal plus free dining and that was sweet!

firemanx free dining is the better deal but I'm not sure if they can be combined, best to call Disney.

The way it works is this: certain dates have a certain amount of certain rooms in certain categories at certain resorts opened up. If your current reservation happens to MATCH one of those availabilities, then you can have the discount on your reservation. It's also sounding like they are holding over a certain amount to see if existing reservations catch on; for example, this morning I asked to switch to a standard room at POFQ and was told it wasnot available. fifteen minutes later another poster said they were in fact able to apply the code to their existing ressie at FQ for the same starting date. An hour later another poster with an existing ressie at FQ had to change to POR to get the code applied for the same starting date.

This is why some people are able to get a standard room at one hotel when someone looking for a room starting the next day might be told they are all sold out or that they have to take the highest cost room, or even vice versa (especially in the case of WL and Poly, it looks like).

For the record, we went from a standard room at Pop for 8 nights (11/3-11/11) to a standard room at POR for a grand total of $35 more that we spent on our entire trip originally. I've been checking back periodically for POFQ and right now not even POR is available starting that day any more, just CBR.

I called yesterday and was able to get it applied to my POP reservation, as well. I had been room-only 10/29-11/3 with AAA discount (booked through WDW, not AAA, so they were able to change it for me)...now for only $300 more I have the dining plan for a 5-night stay AND 2 extra one-day passes! So we are basically eating for a week (2 adults--baby is free, all but 1 are buffets) for $180!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU OP KRISTINA!!!!!!!! I missed the announcement on the DIS main page and only clicked on this thread because my name is also Kristina and I wanted to see who stole my name.

I saw in the mousesaver that promotion is for check in 10/01-12/23. Since for the free dinning you will have to check in before 9/30, I don't think the discount can apply. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.
