***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

I think you are right, as the rep said that I wouldn't be able to book FP+ until 28 days out. I had thought I had heard you can book FP+ at 60 days out as long as you had your tickets and were on property.

Like I said, the 60 day thing isn't a given right now. It depends on if they've added the FP+ slots for the attractions to the system, enabled the reservations, etc.

Basically, you can do it when you can do it. And right now, IT seems to be taking the stance now that they will not help you with FP+ until you've actually been "invited", whenever that happens to be.

I know this is all a guess at this point, but assuming FP+ is available for our February trip, how important do you think it will be to book the fastpasses on exactly day 60 (or 30 or whatever it ends up being)?

Also, what impact will the advance FP booking do to those who simply show up to a park and take their chances? In our case, I could see booking fastpasses for an afternoon at Epcot, but spending the morning at HS, doing rope drop and trying to get a FP for TSM.

Thanks to everyone for their input.

Once FP+ is fully rolled out, the 60-day-in-advance rule should hold. But during this "testing" phase, it's all been a blur.

Funny, the Disney Rep at first didn't know why I couldn't book FP+as I was under 60 days. Then she put me on hold and talked to someone else and basically said in not so many words that is has been a "blur". But from talking to whomever was someone else they indicated that it was at the 28 day mark that I can book FP+.

We will see what happens. Plan to check My Disney Exp from time to time to see if it will let me book.

I too am also hoping I can book FP+ as well as pull FPs on the day of the visit as I have always make good use of the fast pass system.

I do like the ability to choose time slots for FP and plan around the time you may want to eat & where you would like to be in the park etc.

I'm not a happy camper! I received an e-mail from Disney that my magic bands have shipped but I did not request Magic Bands! What the heck? I do not want anything to do with Magic Bands. I know I'm probably in the minority here but I'm not going to wear one. I can't figure this out. I did not customize a magic band or link a ticket to one so why are sending me one? :confused3

Simply don't use it .. You can just use your KTTW card..

There is a thread for December check-ins relating to MB & FP+ opening up ... so far, no one has reported being able to do it unless they already had access from a previous trip. I think I can post a link in my next post ... :badpc:

might not be possible. my mom is there this week and was issued a magicband and not a KTTW card. she has her three FP+ and can not use the existing machines.

She is suppose to have a KTTW card.. She needs to go to the front desk and tell them she wants one. The KTTW card does everything the MB can. During testing the KTTW card is a back up to the MB.

The MB doesn't have to be used..

:santa: Hopefully this link to the December thread works right now :wave2::

Thanks for the link.

Wish I would have done more research then Disney wouldn't have my ticket money at the 58 day mark as I wouldn't have bought my on line tickets today but waited until closer to the 28 day mark. My bad for failure to research the 60 day window not being fully rolled out.

But after 46 minutes on hold for IT to link my tickets to My Disney Exp, I should be all set to book FP+ when available (said with snark) LOL :lmao:

It is possible that it is now either/or. They were still giving the KTTW cards for the most part because not every location could process RFID purchases - that has probably changed by now.

However, it would also mean that guests without separate admission media wouldn't be able to get regular fastpasses.

In any case, she should be able to say she wants to opt for a KTTW card in lieu of the MagicBand. They are not supposed to be forcing them on people. They are, however, going to be the default for resort guests.

Just read another post on another thread of a guest having issues with the MB today entering the MK and had to use and was told to use hi KTTW card.. So who knows ...

Either way in the world in 12 days and you can bet I'm gonna insist on KTTW cards.. LOL

Now that our UCT tickets have been linked to our magic bands and we've selected fastpass+ ... do we need the actual tickets anymore? Will they work in the legacy fastpass machines?

Bring them. At a minimum, if there are any issues, you've got the originals.

Me too! I hope its not too much of a hassle at check-in. I think I'll call Disney Reservations and have them note on my reservations that I do not want a Magic Band, only KTTW card. By the way, my Magic Bands arrived today and I received the e-mail that they had just been shipped. Still doesn't make sense that they were mailed to me when I did not request them. Anyway, the bands will be left at home.

We checked in this evening and had magic bands and were also given fully functional KTTW cards without asking for them :) gonna test them on FP tomorrow (and we already have out FP+ booked)
