***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

OK, I have a unusual situation and I hope someone here knows the answer. I would rather not call WDW, I get better info here;) .

We are going next April, have a reservation at the Coronado, and now it looks like we might have a chance at SOG :goodvibes. Thing is, we won't know if we can stay at SOG until closer to departure - like maybe a week before .

Before than, I will have made my ADR's and FP+ reservations. I have some days leftover on my 10 UT tickets (no exp), so were going to use them this trip. If I get to stay at SOG and cancel Coronado, what happens to my ADR's and FP+ reservations? If I have my ticket media in the magic band will I lose anything? We are going during Spring Break :crowded: , so I would prefer not for it to all disappear, since it would be difficult to get it back during that crowded time.

Any help or insights would be most appreciated !

Thanks!

If I keep my offsite accommodations, will I be able to pull more FastPasses using the traditional FastPass machine? Going to WDW Dec 21-28. Staying at Sheraton Vistana through RCI.

I am fearful that WDW will disable FastPass capabilities for those without MagicBands, so I'm considering switching to an onsite property. (Guess that's what WDW will hope will happen.)

But, it also sounds like an opportunity to not be limited to the three FastPasses a day. We always use more than that!

I'm so confused.

They are currently also giving KTTW cards to guests as a backup device, and they work in the FP kiosks. If you have a separate AP, that works as well.

Do you need to request a KTTW card if you already have a customized band, or will they give you one at check-in regardless (without asking)? We don't travel until November so I realize it can all change by then, but just trying to keep of where it stands now. Thanks!

As of now, you would get one automatically.

I'm confused too. We are staying for a couple of days after our cruise in DEC. at the Dolphin. I'm wondering if we will be able to get FastPasses the old fashion way or if we are just out of luck and all rides will be stay-by for us? Anyone?

We don't know what the plans exactly are, but I seriously doubt that regular Fastpass will be removed before EVERYONE has access to Fastpass+. There has been no reason to think that that FP+ is a resort-only option. It is being rolled out to resort guest FIRST as part of the test.

In addition, currently resort guests who are eligible to utilize FP+ can also use regular FP and thus not limited to 3 FP+, but we have no idea if/when that will change.

Has anyone gotten a FP+ for Be Our Guest lunch? I read somewhere that someone got one, and we are going to be there for 11 days next month. But, so far I do not see that as an option on any of our days. Is there a regular fastpass available. Since I could not get a ressie there for any of our dinners, I would really like to eat lunch there. Unfortunately, the 4 adult males in my group are not going to want to wait :sad2: in line with me so that I can do that. A FP+ for the group would really be a bonus. :thumbsup2

The BOG FP+ is accessed through a separate website, and not through MDE where all the others are. There is no regular FP for it.

It's being called a "Fastpass", but it is more of an experiment of a potential Fastpass+-type system for lunch at BOG. It isn't currently part of the system and being handled completely separately.

OK...the place I read it said that it was a special fastpass not connected to the others, so that makes sense. ...

OK. Question... how do those who are selected for this FP find out about it? And when... since I am 30 days away from trip... when would I be notified I have been selected and how?

Thanks for the responses!

I am trying to get a Fastpass for myself to the Epcot Character Spot so that I can take my 2 y.o. DD while DS and DH use their Fastpasses for Mission Space. On one page it says that Fastpass+ is available for this attraction. But when I go to change my Fastpass (originally I had one for Mission Space too), I am not given the option for Epcot Character Spot. Anyone know why this is? If it matters, these are for the first week in December. Thanks!

All FP+ might be gone for that time.

Not saying you're wrong....but, I find it hard to believe that the Epcot Character Spot is unavailable as a fastpass for our entire trip (I was never given this option for any of our dates). But, Soarin' and Test Track had plenty of times still available for each day. I booked all of my fastpasses right at our 60 window too. Has anyone else seen the Epcot Character Spot as a fastpass option for November/beginning of December trips? Is it possible that they just haven't released this as an option yet? Should I keep checking back every day or is that a waste of time?

Some of the meet&greets, special shows, etc. don't seem to be loaded in to the system as far in advance as the main attractions. And not everything might be loaded for December yet...it's still more than 60 days away. The fact that you can book anything yet is surprising.

One other question....I read somewhere that people who have tickets to MVMCP (MNSSHP) are being allowed to make Fastpass selections for after 4 p.m. the day of their party. Just to clarify, this wouldn't be an additional 3 fastpasses per person on top of their regular park ticket fastpasses, would it? We have 3 fastpasses already scheduled for the day my son and I are going to MVMCP (DH and DD2 aren't going to the party). And I didn't see a way to get more fastpasses for just he and I that would be associated with the party. But, wanted to make sure I'm not missing out on anything! My head is spinning with all of these additional things to plan (and I LOVE to plan!). Can't imagine how people who don't read the disboards or are newbies to Disney are dealing with all of this!! :confused3

I'm actually at 58 days (the first day of my trip, which is a split stay). I was able to book all of my fastpasses on Saturday (for the entire stay, even though it's a split stay that goes into December). I just happened to log on for another reason and noticed I was able to book them. I was pretty surprised, since the CM I spoke with last week said eventually it would be at 60 days but right now it was more like 30-something days out. Sounds like I should keep checking back to see if more options appear. :) Thanks!

No, you do not get an additional 3 FP+.

The party starts at 7PM. There are no FP+ selections for 7PM or later, as FP+ is not used during the parties.

You are allowed in to the parks starting at 4PM, but the park is still open to non-party guests until 7PM, so FP+ is still available during that time.

In addition, MagicBands aren't used for admission for separate-ticket events at this time. You need to show/use the actual ticket. In fact, it is reported that Disney doesn't want guests linking party tickets to MagicBands to avoid issues and confusion.

This.

During my trip to WDW recently, I used both the FP+ through my magic band, and the regular FP ticket machines each day. So at least for now, you can use both FP+ and FP regular during your trip.

So with the old system, you could not use a KTTW card to get a FP unless it had been scanned in at that park that day. If I use my MagicBand to get into a park, I assume the KTTW card works for the regular FP even though it did not get scanned in at the park? I am guessing it is still linked to the MB.

That's what I suspected. But, thanks for clarifying. :)

And, good to know about MagicBands not working for admission to the party. I did link my tickets and would have probably assumed I could just use that. It really seems as though there is no purpose in linking party tickets to MDE then, is there (except to have all of your plans in one spot)?

Coming this Nov.(14-19) my family of three are going to WDW and have been selected to partake in the MB experience. We are going with another family of 4 who have not at this time been picked to test the MB. My question is I would like to make a Fastpass+ ressy for BOG lunch, and would like to make it for 7 can I do this???
