New Mugs?

Does anyone know why they changed the mugs so soon? We just got ours in May and now we saw some with the same design, but a different style mug. Did they change all the mugs to the new style or do you have a choice? It looks like they might hold more.

Did they change? The last one I got was in February, and seeing as that's the first new design in three years, I'd be suprised if it changed again so soon.

Doesn't matter as the mugs are only good for the lenght of your stay.

Yes, they did change, just the style not the design. The old ones have white on the bottom where they fit into a cup holder. The new style has the design (character graphic) on the entire cup and it is somewhat tapered. There is a link to a picture on the homepage.

Yes the mugs have changed since May. We were there in May and just returned this weekend. Every resort we visited is only selling the new mug. We checked at everyplace we went: BC/YC/WL/CR/POFQ/GF/BW

Anyone know why they change them so soon? I would think that would cost Disney more money.

I guess from a Disney Dining or Disney Restaurant standpoint, the why of the change isn't important. It is what it is, and everyone would have needed new mugs for a second visit anyway.

It's great that we've got pictures of the new mugs so soon after the change. Usually we're clamoring on the boards for a bit before we get pics

We just got the new mugs in May also, then they changed them in June. I guess they had to have something to replace the YOAMD in Jan., so they a few made until the new design was finished. We get new mugs every trip anyway, so I'm looking forward to getting the newly designed mug.
