New Mug Designs?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the 2011 Resort Refillable mug design is or when it will come out? We're going the end of January and I'm hoping to get a new mug for my collection

At the rate Disney is going, I will be thrilled if they get a new mug design for our trip in January. . . . . . .of 2012.

Seriously, I do not want or need any more of those RED mugs!

I agree, it would be a pleasant surprise if they changed them. Last time it was late Jan, mid Feb before we saw new mugs. DH went for our anniv the first week in March 2 years ago and I remember they changed them right before we arrived.

OP, they are still selling the red "celebrate" ones they have had for over a year and half.
No ones knows when the new mug will be out. Everyone is hoping soon, but speculation is they have to sell all the old ones first.

We're not going till this summer, so hopefully it will change by then.

I just wish they'd make larger mugs. I find the current ones rather small when wanting to fill them and take back to room.

I expect we will see a new design this year, simply because each change of theme has brought a new design since the elimination of the resort-specific mugs. The themes have lasts 2 years, so the mug designs were the same for 2 years. But the new mugs won't show up until the resorts start selling out of the old ones. Maybe free dining will hurry that along since so many people are on the QSDP or DxDDP and getting mugs as part of their packages?

The resort counter service locations can't even sell a new mug design until they sell out of the current mugs being sold, so I think it will be a while before we see a new mug design.

I think sometime in Feb we'll see some new mugs. It was Feb '09 we were at the Poly and the celebrate mugs (with the white bottom) made an appearance. Then by July '09 the celebrate with the color throughout were around. (well, that's when we first got one at POP)

I'm ready for new mugs too. I'm planning on doing quick service or deluxe for our first night stay (with DVC) to get the new mug in August!

Thanks everyone! So the current mug is still the red one (with the design all the way to the bottom) that has Mickey&Friends on it? Guess I'll have to wait til our summer/fall trip for a new mug

Bumping this up for anyone that has been recently. Going in September and am currently stuck with 8 red mugs. Hoping for something new. I really miss the resort mugs or wish that you could pay to reuse an old one.

Last time I was there, they had a few. One had a beach theme...I'm not a mug person, but I was tempted to get it because I thought it was so cute!

Another had Haunted Mansion stuff on it, I think.

There was another, but damned if I remember.

Someone more observant will know.

we went in May and our mugs are the bright flourscent pink, blue, and yellow...really pretty..

I took the bigger mug and filled it with water...(here at the house) and then emptied it into the smaller ones and there is not much difference in the capacity...just the look ...

They just changed these mugs to the flourscent colors this past Feb, March time frame I believe...

and they are trying out some new thing ...that you can only fill up the ones that are bought on that visit ...they have a transmitter or something on the bottom and will only fill when it is recognized...
