New movie "Orphan"

I read through the spoilers (it's all on the IMDb discussion boards) because I'm terrified of horror films but am curious as to the "big twist." Still won't be seeing the movie, and no it could never actually happen. Has nothing to do with adoption in the end (though I agree the original tagline was tacky and thoughtless and I'm surprised it go as far as publication).

Technically you are right there are orphans but both mother and father would be dead if they are an orphan. There are now foster homes and children's care facilities. The majority of children in foster care and childrens homes still have living parents so they are foster children not orphans. Most orphans would have been loved before their parents died so they would not have attachment disorders causing them to act like a pschopath unlike Ester in the movie. LOL :lmao: None of this really applies since Ester is not really a child in the movie.
I know it really has nothing to do with the movie, I get off track so easily! I don't get to the movies often but I would like to see this one, especially after all this discussion.

Well, (evil) stepmothers get a bad rap in most fairy tales. I haven't seen the movie or the spoilers so I can't really comment on the premise of this particular movie.

It does remind me of how every year when Universal Studios hosts Halloween Horror Nights, they always get legal threats from several clown associations for giving clowns a bad name. One year the theme was based on an insane assylum--Lots of upset people over that one. I imagine it must be hard not to offend someone when making a film. Even Forest Gump had its dissenters.

It seems like there is a group everywhere that gets offended by everything these days. The bottom line is if you find it offensive "DONT GO SEE IT". Why do you feel the need to have everyone boycott it because you find it offensive.

If something offends me, whether it be a movie, an advertisement, etc. I don't go to the movie or purchase that product. As a consumer I have that right. However, that is my decision to make and my opinion, I don't feel the need to push it on other people.

Also, if you saw the movie, you would realize it is not what you think. People jump the gun and are being way to sensitive.

Sooner or later, we will not be able to make movies because there will be no topic we can touch. I am really tired of people wanting to dictate what is suitable and how much creative license can be used. Why do they feel everyone needs to think and see things the same.

Kind of like religion and politics, everyone has the right to believe what they want and vote for who they want, but yet there are people who judge you for your beliefs and principals because it is different from theirs.
