Hello all,
its really late right now and im sorry for the length and if this has been repeated already.
I have been to Disney many times before, but never with my family and its been over 2yrs now.
I have a 1yr old turning 2 on june 28th, were planning to go in august of this yr 05j.
We would like to stay for 7days, we were kind of on a budget of like 3,000 which includes airfair if possilbe.
We are currently dealing with an agent at this site called magic for less.
So with that said i have a few questions.
1 whats the best place to stay
2 would going to a disney water park, be off limits for a child my sons age if not which would be good.(he seems to be ok with the waters, pools extra)
3 my dh and I are really big thrill seekers and since we are going on our own and i hate going on rides alone and even more so passing one up,LOL are there any suggestion.
4 I have read other sites and comments what would be best at this price range to be at. And does it really make a diffrence which it comes to convenence for my son at a value or pricer resort.(buses manily)
5. my son although hes young loves rides are there ride at disney and other themed parks related to disney and or in packages offred that hell be able to ride on hes a bit of a twerp, lol?

I would hate to pay more for something that ends up being a bust and then I pay for value and wish i did have to deal with stupidity. Please be aware that we dont look for much in a hotel except for the basics i think. have a room clean when first occupied, being able to be serviced and not feel you are a bother and feeling safe.
And above all how can my husband and myself make this trip easier on us with a baby with out having to pass anything up ourselves? Like rides and stuff.
I would like to add, my son is well be haved hes very observent and does not seem to be afraid of charaters that are oversized MOST OF THE TIME!
Thank you so much for your patience and sorry for the length and if its been answered previously.

Welcome to the DIS. :)

You will get more responses about the resorts if you break down your questions. Just post your resort questions on the resort board and you will get lots of helpful information. Then post your theme park questions here and you will get lots of great suggestions about doing the parks with a baby.

You will find lots of great information here.

There are sooooo many things that you can do at Disney with your'll little boy. First, the resort I prefer to stay at is the Grand Floridian because of its unbelievable atmosphere. But you said that you were looking for basics, so maybe the All Star resorts. They are a bit farther from the Magic Kingdom and you can only take bus, or your car to get to the different places. I have stayed at the All Star resorts many, many times and love it just same. The creativity of the whole place is great. They are value resorts so they are probably the cheaspest resort you will find there. The All Star resorts available are All Star Sports, All Star Music, and All Star Movies. They all have a food court and store. Along with pools and an arcade. The other resorts besides POP are classified as Moderate. These include the Swan and Dolphin, Coronado, and so many others. There are a few more resorts classified as Deluxe, but not as many as moderate. The Grand Floridian is one of them. If you can afford it, stay the Grand Floridian! For the attractions, there are many that your little boy can ride. Like Its A Small World, Peter Pan's Flight, and Winnie the Pooh. If you feel as if you are limited to the thrills becuase of your little boy, there is a great place you can leave him at. Called Neverland at the Polynesian resort. There is a window that the kids walk through to get in there and as they walk through, the Cast Member sprinkles pixie dust on the kid. There are so many things the kids can do there. There is stuff like arts and crafts, an arcade, an area where you can play house (I don't know if your boy would want to do that though) I can remember there being a time when someone brought in an animal and showed the kids it. All the kids sit on a layered area, and some animal holder brought ina chinchilla and talked about the things it eats and how it lives. I went here a long time ago and had a lot of fun. While the kids are there, you could go onto Rock 'n Roller Coaster, or Space Mountain. Another ride you can ride with your little boy is Buzz Lightyear's ranger spin. It is a competition where you shot at Z's. Your score shows up in your car. I always have fun trying to beat my family! You can find out more information on the official Disney Site. I think it is called disney.com once you get here, just find Walt Disney World in one of those roll out or pop up or whatever you want to call it and go there. It should lead you to the site I am talking about. You can read about EVERYTHING! You will know you are there when music starts to play and you can see where you chose parks, resorts, or other. Well, I hope I was helpful. and Have fun at WDW! :wave2:

If you're just looking for a "regular" hotel room and you're on a budget, I think a value resort is the way to go. Your son will love the atmosphere, there are lots of things to see when you walk around. We stayed at the All Star Movies this past March and had a great time. No major issues, and it's great to have access to the busses and not have to rent a car. As for not missing the bigger attractions b/c of your son... I believe there's a child swap program, or babysitting services at the resorts. Maybe you can get a baby sitter for one or two evenings so you and your DH can go and have some "adult" time. Don't worry, everyone will have a blast! And since you're planning on going in August- be prepared for HOT, HUMID weather. Wear plenty of sunscreen, and wear a hat if possible. You also might want to plan on taking mid-day breaks back at the hotel. Sometimes the heat is just unbearable to stay in for the whole day. Have fun, and post any questions you may have, you can find some great ideas/advice on these boards!

I have a little guy turning 2 on 6/27, and he's been to WDW 4 times. :flower:

The value resorts are great! I'd probably try to stay at Pop Century, but any value would be fine. The pools are simpler, no slides, but at 2 years old, I don't think that's an issue. We stayed at Pop with DS when he was 11 mos. old and he loved the Goofy water play area (has those things that squirt water out of the ground). The moderates and deluxes are very nice too. I'd stay wherever your budget allows. We've stayed at the Beach Club Villas and Port Orleans Riverside with him also. Riverside was fabulous too!

I could be mistaken, but I believe the kids clubs like Neverland are for kids about age 4 and up. I am pretty sure kids have to be potty trained to be there. There are in room babysitting services though. I think Fairy Godmothers is one of them. I've never used them myself, but I sure have wanted to! Maybe you guys could hire an in-room sitter and have fun on the thrill rides one day?

We did Typhoon Lagoon in April when DS was 22 mos. He loved it! He played in the kiddie areas and rode on the lazy river with us. It was very hard for DH & I to do the bigger slides, but it was fun anyway. A different fun than pre-baby, you know? Next time, I think we need to bring one of his Grammys so we can do all the slides! ;)

No matter what you decide, you will have a fabulous time!

Here's some ideas I have.

1. Check out the resorts board. They have FAQ's about every Disney resort. It should give you lots of info. We personally like POR with the kids. We like the quiet at night and the food court in the morning!

2. We have not bothered with a waterpark yet. The pools have been enough for us so far. They tend to be like mini-water parks without the extra cost.

3. My husband and I are big thrill ride people too. Unfortunately you have to either baby-swap and ride alone or skip them. You will be suprised how soon your little one will be big enough to ride with you!

4. The buses work well most of the time regardless of which resort you stay at. My kids see them as another ride!

5. Disney is made for little ones. They have so many things to do. He will never run out of new experiences in each park.

I hope you all have a wonderful time at Disney. Just remember to make memories together and you can't go wrong! Be sure to take LOTS of pictures too:)

Just a side question for the one who posted this. When in March did you go?
