New Moderating System

Over the next few months you are going to notice some major changes to the way the boards are moderated. We will be decentralizing the management of the individual boards and the moderators will be assuming a much larger role in how their individual boards are run. You will notice some shifting of moderators as we implement this as well as additional new moderators.
We are very excited about this concept as we feel it will help each board become more responsive to the community it serves.

As an added post I would like to thank everyone on the Collector's Board for all of their support and friendship during my moderating time here. It has been a pleasure to serve you and I am grateful for all that you have done for me. We've had a lot of fun and shared quite a number of stories together. It is with some sadness that I say good-bye to this board as I will no longer be a moderator for Collectors. I plan to continue posting and keeping up with everyone so you aren't getting off that easy. I'll still be around as one of the moderators for the new Photography board. I welcome you all to watch each of the boards closely as changes are implemented. I think the plans that Pete and Alex and the Webmasters have will be very exciting and give you an opportunity to continue to make the DISBoards one of the premiere dicussion boards around.

Hi guys! I just wanted to join Jeff in saying goodbye to the Collectors Board. I'm not going away from the DIS for good, but I have also moved to another board within the DIS. The Cooking, Crafting, and Scrapping Board. I hope to see a lot of you over there - what a perfect place to get ideas for framing and displaying your pins and collectibles! I know I haven't been around for some time due to my new (well, old) assignment on the Community Board and my health issues, but you guys have always remained in my thoughts. I hope that some day I get to see you guys again - who knows, maybe in 2008 we can have GPA 4? Stranger things have happened. (Gotta run, Jeff is going to hit me now!)

Yeah, you may be wondering "why is the moderator with pin in his name leaving the Collectors Board?" I'm just leaving as a moderator, but I'll still be around lurking, reading, and posting on occasion.

It was a hard decision, because this is where Lauri and I found the DIS. This board has a great group of people, a wonderful mix of newbies getting their start in collecting Disneyana and long-time collectors more than willing to offer advice. That will never change, no matter who the moderators are.

I'll be over on Transportation, helping people with advice on getting to WDW with or without pins, and I hope to see some of you over there on occasion.

I am in Ireland (Dublin) and it is about 7pm and I wanted to say I will miss all of you on the Collectors Board Team... I will make sure I have a pint of Guinness for all 3 of you and I wish you the best on your new moderator duties on the DIS. It has been a pleasure working with you on the Collectors Board.
