New MK Paid Disney After Hours Event Announced

OK, well there are lots of us who stay there for the perks, and EMH is a big one we take advantage of frequently. This notion of Disney magic is a crock, IMO.

If this notion of Disney magic is a crock IYO, then why even bother being on a Disney message board. None of us would even be on here right now if we didn't feel some sort of " magic " being there.

So this test is for April and May yet regular park hours have not been adjusted past 10 pm for June. Makes perfect sense now why they are months late on adjusting those hours. They are seeing how this goes and not extend my June hours except for the added cost way. Send me home at 10 and get others in there from 10 pm till 1 am at additional cost.

they weren't adjusted last year until March 18, so I wouldn't worry. We don't even know if this is real.

It's amazing how based on absolutely nothing this has escalated to emh are going away, alcohol will be served, special characters, buffets, people at Disney being fired, people boycotting, etc. Really?
Lol. I was only speculating the characters as an example of how it could be an actual event, not just "look ma, no lines!" impending doom to EMH.

*cry*

Edit: Some day. :)

Are the character experiences amazing?! Are there lines? No! Must not research DL while it's not an option. :p
The way they roam is different but there are lines. Not as long but also not as many people. Percentage of may be the same
But, WDW will never do it again. People are too damn rude now. The only reason it works in CA is you have a percentage of guests who aren't in to characters

I find it ridiculous actually. The leaps being taken are just ridiculous. There are some here who find evil in everything Disney does. Makes me wonder why they bother to go

Maybe in an after hours, limited capacity event...?

;)

-- I'll keep dreaming.

Either way, it's a win for Disney. Increased revenue from the MK after hours event at $150 per person, the park hopper option, ROL Dining Package, or guests might opt to visit Disney Springs and spend money on shopping and dining there.

Unless of course the MK hours ar

Does anyone have knowledge of what the onsite hotel bookings are like during this time frame?
Well April 14th is a the start of a Marathon Weekend, and spring vacation week for many of us in New England, so I don't think it's an extremely low crowd week.

Even for the DVC anniversary parties where it was limited to 3,000 guests for each of the two nights, it was still standard meet and greets with Attendants overseeing the lines.

Launchpad and Louis were two of the rarer ones to meet. Baymax had no line at all because DVC guests had already met him in DHS or Epcot.

Hopefully better characters will be scheduled for this event.

I would 100% pay $300 for my husband and I to go to the MK for 3 hours in an uncrowded park, during late hours where there are unlikely to be small children and too many strollers. Would be worth every cent.

I'd only go if there were NO strollers or small children. As in restricted to ages 21 and over. And even then $150 is too high. Maybe $100.

EMH is the only reason to stay on site, IMO. I agree all that so-called Disney magic is a crock. I live in the real world, not in Fantasyland.

Ah, that wouldn't be worth it to me. Many wandering characters all over the park (or whatever limited lands were open) would be, though.

As far as the confusion about this being twice the price of the parties for half the time and half the activities,... I don't think those things are relevant if they sell less tickets to this. The parties are usually packed. I'm wondering if they will limit the ticket sales on this to make the park feel somewhat empty. If so, I think we would do it once at least (just 2 of us). We hate lines and to be able to do all the rides in order and get character pics with no waits would be amazing. It all depends on your priorities. We are always shocked at what people will spend on sit-down meals at Disney so we mostly bring our own food mixed with a bit of quick service. However we would way more likely spend $300 to have an an amazing 3 hour evening IF the park feels empty.

If they ran it like the TA party from a year ago, the HM tightrope walker was out and Hitchhiking ghosts... guests could pose as puppets with a marionette. Those costumes are somewhere. :)
