New MK Paid Disney After Hours Event Announced

It isn't $149 for three hours. Guests can enter at 7pm. We have done Halloween/Christmas parties where you enter at 4 and have the park until midnight. We were able to trick or treat, do rides, and had time to watch the parades and fireworks.

Our touring plan would just be switched...fastpasses, parades, and fireworks, then more attractions during After Hours.

But you have must have a park pass as well. No thanks, not worth it to me.

Did e nights stop after the 9/11 slow down?
I don't think they did. I remember doing an e-night in 2004. After 9/11, they briefly did away with EMH (Early Morning Hours) and replaced it with a cheesy Character Caravan that pulled up to the bus stop at the hotel. The characters got off, did a little dance, signed some autographs and then took off for the next hotel.

Its 150 for three hours of decreased attendance + three to four hours of fighting your way through the mass of regular and DAH guests. Wow, such value.

Also, christmas and halloween parties have special events like the afore said trick or treat and special parades, M&G and fireworks, whereas this daylight (nightlight?) robbery will include the normal stuff, less rides and almost no dining options.

you're ok with spending $149 to see fireworks everybody else got for free included in the Park admission?

I am ready to take at least a 5 year break from these parks. I'm need to find someone to "gift" my tickets too that I have purchased!

Hah! My wife's only response when I emailed her the link was "so it is the Halloween party with no Halloween." I felt like the Halloween party was worth it -- at least once -- because you got all the bonuses that went with, including a great Hocus Pocus show and the headless horseman. This is just more park time, and you have to stay until 1 or 2 a.m. to even make it worthwhile.

$150 doesn't surprise me. Did you see Disney's latest board members?

I don't see that as accurate at all either. We are most certainly middle class. As is everyone I know who goes to Disney. I'd venture to guess the majority of the posters here are also.

The middle class is compromised of a large range of (undefined) salaries. I would venture to guess that the lower middle class is most definitely feeling the cost burden nowadays. I know that we do.

I think part of it, too, is priority. My wife will never allow a large amount of money to go do Disney, so I make due with a smaller amount of funds.

I remember doing e-ride nights. It was so much fun to have a pretty empty park and being able to do all of the rides. However at the current price I'm not interested. I guess I'll just have to use my AP and go more often.

I took a two year break five years ago. The break hasn't ended yet. Doesn't look like it's going to either. :D

Can I confirm where we're at with this After Hours event? As of right now the benefits are 3 hours in a low-capacity park, with some rides open and free ice cream, right? Is there anything unique offered, that we can't experience on a regular day/night at MK? I find myself leaning pretty hard towards 'nope' on this one right now. I'm not necessarily opposed to special hard ticket events, but there just doesn't seem to be a value to these nights...

Ugh this is ridiculous - Walt is going to be rolling around his grave. Free ice cream and soda but no cupcakes? I will not be paying for this event unless "much much more" includes much much more cupakes.

Turns out I'll be there on May 5th and had planned on going to the MK that day. So, my goal will be to there as late as possible now without a ticket (armband). I'm going to get in the longest line right at 9:59 p.m., then I'll walk around the park enjoying the sights and sounds. No need to go on rides. I'll observe how many less people there actually are in the park.
