New Military Promotion question--are they upgradable?

We are taking my soon to be 13 year old niece to DLR in June for her birthday. We were originally scheduled to go over her actual birthday, but now that they have rolled out the cheap 3 day hoppers for the military, her mom wants me to move the trip up so that she can take advantage of that deal (they have a last first day of use date of June 12th and her birthday is not until the 24th).

My DH and I are Premium APs so we tend to visit the parks for a few hours on our first and last day of each trip, but my niece will only have a 3 day hopper, and we are staying 4 nights, so we potentially have 5 days in the parks.

So, my question is: Does anyone know whether you can add days to the military special hopper and if so, how much would it be to make it either a 4 or 5 day hopper?

Sadly, my niece will miss out on receiving her birthday fun card, but since her mom is saving $75 on admission cost and my DH and I are able to save about $175 in hotel costs because the Hojo entertainment rate is avaiable for our new dates, I am sure that she will end up getting some extra souvenirs due to the money we are saving! But, we will still get her the 1st visit and birthday buttons and we still plan to have a birthday breakfast with Lilo & Stitch (her favorites)!

Thanks in advance for your help!

My family is taking advantage of this as well and everything we are being told is that upgrading to 5 days would be more expensive then just getting standard military discounted 5 day park hopper tickets. (I called DL's ticketing office to get that info)

As a result, we're just going to do the 3 days this trip with the possibility of adding a 4th with DL only admission.

Totally off topic, but - DS's birthday is June 24 too! ;)

I've never done this but everything I've heard is when you buy discounted tickets and then upgrade them you only get the value of what you paid towards your upgrade. So if you paid $100 for your passes with the military discount and they are normally $149, if you upgrade then you would have to pay the missing $49 as well. Sorry, I know my numbers must be off, we have AP's so we don't look at ticket prices.

Thanks for the info... that was about what I expected and since we are AP I have never paid attention to any of that stuff before. Oh well! Spending 3 days in the parks is still better than not going to Disney at all! Since she has never been before, I am thinking that we will do Downtown Disney & the Hojo pool on the night we arrive, and then maybe I'll book a second character breakfast for the last morning (we are definitely going to Lilo & Stitch one morning at the birthday girl's request.
