Good morning,
Sorry I haven't had much chance to get on, but it has been like a dream at all of the devastion here in Florida - got to see the church whose steeple was like broken off and slammed right into the church roof - I was told it made front page of the New York newspaper -
to me it looked like the bottom of a rocket getting ready to launch - with a sense of humor, the church put "Blasting off" on their road bulletin board - the gambling ship, the Sterling, was allowed in the port yesterday, but I understand there are still a number of ships and barges still outside of the port hoping against hope of being allowed in soon - stores are slowly beginning to get back to opening but have left boardings up until we see what happens with Ivan - I spoke to my family in Key West last night and they are leaving Key West as of tomorrow morning - first time any of them have ever left - my cousin Jerry was telling me that if Ivan did come in between Boca Chica and Marathon, that not to expect to see Key West survive - me, I believe, she will make it - she survived the hurricane of 1935 tho all she received then was the outer bands but it caused many deaths - due to the awesome tracking now, many lives can be spared - many are still without water and power here - my sister, niece and grandson in Melbourne still has no power and it will be without until next weekend - they are holding up great with the challenges they have faced - Norm and I will be able to go down there for the first time today - its so sad to see so much damage expecially to so many that have been left stripped of everything -
you have a high deductible and if you don't have flood or hurricane included - good luck for most of the cost will come out of your pocket -
Anyhow we are all doing good for most part - just very tired and very weary - But even tho I could have been a better person, God has been very good to me and I am blessed.
Each take care of yourselves and those in harms way of Ivan - thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

Shirley and Norm: I've been reading your posts from the very beginning. Shirley I spoke with you on the phone about 2-3 weeks ago. Who would know that I would be wondering how that very nice wonman from FL is making out. You touch so many lives without even knowing them. You are truly a very special person. I too have family in FL that were hit. Not as hard as you but still without power, fences down bushes and trees all over and very tired of all this weather.

I pray that you can hold on a little longer to get through this season.

Oh Shirleyn your beloved Key West how I do hope she surivives! I have never met you but have communicaged via email-and i too have read your posts-i know how much Key west and all of florida means to you. My prayers have been and are still with all of you down there. we are due to be there in two weeks!

Hi Shirley!

I was so glad to read your posts! We were very fortunate, once again, to be spared the worst of the storm here in NE FL, but we did have 2 days of 40+ mph winds, with stronger gusts. I know a few people with trees in their houses. We were without power for almost 5 days, but I am counting my blessings that our home is intact.

Let's hope Ivan keeps heading west!

Just wanted to thank you for help - I just spoke to my sister and her son loved his gift basket for his birthday cruise today!

I also wanted to say I enjoyed speaking with you yesterday and to tell everyone that I'm glad you're already back in business and bringing big smiles to disney cruisers!!!

Hey everyone,
Here it is Sunday and we are kinda back to normal or what ever normal is suppose to be, but then life wouldn't be interesting - there is a heck of a lot more heartaches out there than mine and every so often I have to yank myself from my own pity party by just remembering Sophie - Anyhow Melissa I am so glad that the gift basket went well - it was just enough for the age of the child and it didn't cost an arm and a leg - Jeff I told you that DD& would always remember the fairy fountain - I remember the first wish she made and how it came true -- give her hugs from Norm and I and also tell her it is still there waiting for little children to come in and make a wish. It appears as tho Ivan is going to miss Key West - I knew that KW could not take that kind of wind and I knew she would be under water - I was very anxious over this hurricane - Anyhow we are getting back to normal somewhat - Blessings to everyone and everyone stay safe.
