New Menus on the Magic

Just got back from the 4/30 cruise. One night of the new menues, our food was quite delayed. There was a "problem" in the galley. Wasn't worth the wait. As many others have said, variety was lacking the first few nights (new), but it did get better later in the week. Had I known I could have ordered the chocolate lava cake ahead of time, I wouldn't care about dinner. I'll have to remember that for next time. I, too, am a chocoholic, and they took away all my favorites! I must have made up for the lacking dinners w/the desserts b/c I managed to gain weight!

Stimpy...yes that was us...one adult table and one teen table with 8 teenaged girls. Thanks so much for the nice comments about their behavior...I will be sure to pass it on to all of their parents (and to my two girls)!! We really did have a great time!!

We had the same problem last August when our 7-day became a 10-day because of Hurricane Frances. The menus for the last three nights were awful I thought. I lot of weird seafood dishes and a lot of veal and lamb (which we don't eat). So we ordered room service one night and loved it.
These look like the same thing. And duckling -- my daughter will have a fit! Oh well, I think this year we are going to try Topiders one or two nights for dinner. On the 14-day cruise, we will probably be sick of the fancy fixings by the second week anyway!

Hi everyone, I find this thread so interesting disney must have quite a time of it trying to please 2500 passengers. some of us like seafood, some won't try duckling, lamb, veal, or venison. Some people will only eat chicken, some only beef and then you get into how you season your food depending on what area of the country or world you live in. Wow all I can say is I'm thankful I'm not a dcl chef. When on our cruises my husbsnd and I try to order things that we would never order at home. We have found this to be something that we look forward to at dinner and to be pleasantly surprised at how many things we like. My suggestion, try doing this the worst that can happen is that you end up hungry and call room service later in the evening. Robin :wizard:

I do agree with you...mostly. We usually do like to try different things, especially on cruises. Heck my DH was disappointed when he found out there was no escargot this cruise...he loves it. On our previous DCL cruises, DS ordered off the adult menu almost every night. This time he ate Mac & Cheese 6 out of 7 nights.

We don't eat lamb, veal, duckling for personal reasons. (I don't want to seem like I am pushing my views on anyone else. I understand some people like those things and that's fine. We just choose not to eat them personally) We also don't really eat too much seafood...some but not alot. Also, we think DH is allergic to it but since he won't go to a dr......
One night they offered 2 seafood dishes, veal and lamb. I was disappointed that I had to order the "plain, boring" steak. It would have been nice if they offered a nice flavorful chicken dish.

I know some people will probably love these menus. It just wasn't something we enjoyed. We obviously didn't starve and it won't prevent us from cruising with DCL again. I just personally thought the food choices were better on our other 2 DCL cruises in the past.

So were there any vegetarian choices on these menus?

yes they usually had a least 1 vegatarian entree every night. Some of them looked very good but I can't remember what they were now.
