I just noticed that there is a fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy listed in the allears menu section. Both of my DS's love this kind of a meal..get sick of counter service cheeseburgers. Has anyone tried it yet? How is it?

I was just there 9/5-9/21 and this was not on the menu. I know because I would have chosen it :) Maybe they added it after I was there or maybe it's a misprint?? Not sure.

There is a picture of this on the "Food Porn" thread.

It is a breaded and fried patty, not a actual chicken breast.

The menu calls it a fried chicken breast. Not sure if my sons will like a fried chicken patty. Allears menu also lists a fried shrimp basket at Columbia Harbor House...sounds good. Anyone try either of these?

I just had the chicken dinner a couple weeks ago during our night at the MNSSHP.

There was a CM standing outside Pecos trying to get people in (it was dead inside) and he had the regular menu to show people and a big billboard sitting next to him with the chicken dinner picture on it.

It is a big dinner. It is about $8.69 and includes a HUGE country style breaded chicken breast. It is boneless but is real chicken, not a shredded filler based patty. There was also a huge pile of mashed potatoes with it and a piece of corn on the cob. There is also a country style cream type gravy over it. We went to the fixin's bar and added sauteed mushrooms and onions and made a little side salad as well (The CM gave us a little plate to get more side toppings...nice people). The corn wasn't the greatest. I'm pretty sure it was frozen corn on the cob because the texture wasn't as fresh and crisp as the fresh.

We were on free dining and it was 1 CS credit plus we got a large iced tea and a yogurt (they also had cake for dessert). Hubby and I split the dinner and still didn't finish it all.

My Dad got is own meal and our friend who was with us also got his own meal. Neither of them finished it either. Definitely a sharing type of meal.

The funny thing about it was we were dressed for the party as Peter Pan, Wendy Darling, and John Darling. When we left, the CM who was outside trying to get people in asked if we liked it. Our friend dressed as Peter said it was great and the CM said "good, now you have a new happy thought to fly".

HYSTERICAL!

Thanks! I think that my sons will like this meal. I might try it too as we usually eat mostly counter service meals and get tired of the same foods.

I just read a review and saw a pic of the shrimp at CHH. The shrimp appear to be breaded(vs battered) and the reviewer said there weren't alot of them(looked to me to be at least 6-8??) but that they were larger than fried shrimp in other fast food or quick service restaurants. They actually looked good! :)

Yes, I had both when we went in August. It is not a fried patty, just a fried chicken breast. The mashed potatoes were okay and the corn wasn't very good.

The shrimp basket is very good! It comes with french fries and cole slaw. The portion size is very good for the price. I believe I took a picture of it and I will post it if I find it. I would highly recommend getting this, because it is a very nice change from the normal CS food.

Here is the shrimp platter:

We had it 2 weeks ago. I enjoyed it all. The gravy was kinda bland (coming from a southern girl who knows how to make white gravy. :) ) but edible just add some salt and pepper.

DH loves this kind of meal...puts me right to sleep! I guess I know where we are eating dinner for our MVMCP night!

Thanks for the tip. I usually avoid Pecos Bill's because of the noise and mess, but it might be an option now.

My husband loved the chicken dinner. Our whole family liked the place actually! I had a taco salad that I fixed my way!! Lauren had a cheeseburger, Ashley a salad with grilled chicken and Darren burger!

We loved it!

Thanks for all of your posts. I'm glad to hear that the chicken meal is pretty good. PrincessBetty... the shrimp in your picture looks good. I showed it to my husband who loves shrimp and wants to try it when we go to WDW next week. Glad to see that they're adding different things to the same old menus!

Yeah, the shrimp was delicious and you should definitely try it! I really hope it is a permanent addition to the menu there.
